Well I never thought I would find myself back here !. I joined this Forum many years ago now when I was running regularly but over the years I kept getting soft tissue injuries which meant that I could not run or needed money to go and see a physio and trying to solve the problem I lost literally hundreds of pounds in buy custom made orthotics which wore me down so I gravitated to doing more walking & cycling. Silly move really.
However why I don't know , particularly as I am now an overweight old man my thoughts have been turning to try and run again. I am fortunate in that I am a " morning person " so I get out of bed early and to have a short runover the last week I have been out walking and the last time I thought I would try having a short run.
Well as you can imagine it was not great but on a two mile walk I managed to run between lamp posts several times.
However disastrous this was its served to remind me just how much I love running.
Its a bit paradoxical given we are now in Winter but given I can get out early I am looking forward to getting out because very few people will see this silly old man struggling to run.
Its great to be back and I will now read the threads to seek whatever advice I need to get back to running properly.
