SARQ - No niggles for me, I'm confident my pre-race cold has timed itself perfectly, considering running tonight but thought I would have one more day to get over it properly and then I too will be in top form.
ES-niggles 2 v TB 1-therefore reluctantly decided NOT to do Trimpell, but thank you for your concern, please cancel the taxi to Glossop, at least JMC will be able to fit in the bikes.
Will you lot stop going on about colds, I must have caught mine off the thread, I will blame my poor performance at grindleford on the UB or some other disease riddled person, it will have nothing to do with not doing any serious long runs for 18 months
WITGB - Apologies for the no show last night. Got way laid being a taxi service and it slipped my mind. On top of which the comment about being 60 was uncalled for.
JMC - you used the cold excuse before High Legh and Brass Monkey and come to think of it, most of last year's races too!

Eric - driver. Pick up UB and PPP at Strawberry Gardens 8.00am, FOAR at Gardeners at just after 8. UB PPP FOAR
Car 3
GBM - driver SARQ Simon H - driving to GBM's house. GBM - let him know your address. Sarah - GBM - Sarah lives in Denton! I'm sure she can drive to your house? Car 4
JMC only - if JMC is going with his family. If JMC is going on his own then I suggest he: a. goes with GBM if GBM can get 5 in his car); or b. goes in the van and gives a lift to everyone in car 3
M6 - sorry for the late reply. I need to do 16 on Sat, but not sure when I will run, so I will just fit it in as and when. On Sun I would like to do 11, if you are feeling better I could meet you at Disley Station at 9?
Funk, I'm thinking of doing 15 miles on the Mersey Trail from the Co-op pyramid to Chorlton water park and back on Saturday morning (then another 3 home afterwards to make it 18). It's all off road and flat. No faster than 7:30 m/m pace. Wanna join me? Anyone else?
TB - clearly a no brainer, it is so long ago that you was 55, they are teaching that era in schools.
another PB, sub 11 last night, if only there was something to look at besides a blue line and the thought that if you swallow the water it might have been passed by some one else earlier.
Mort - I'm not going to be drawn in to a dicussion on who's the best between Alarm and The Smith. I will only go and upset someone. But thanks for updating the Race List for me and I think the Smith are brilliant..
Si Ronic- Diplomacy is probably the best plan for someone who lives halfway between the Grove and Disley. You never know who you might bump into down a dark A6 !
I haven't run since Saturday. I love not running !!!
ES-it was reported this morning, that an athlete who had won a Gold at the weekend had been training, using a special breathing apparatus on his treadmill which had increased his oxygen levels, enabling him to run faster, personally, I think it's a lot of hot air.
Interesting article in the Daily Telegraph about running shoes. It says that there have never been any tests, nor is there any evidence to support the claim that having pronation control devices, raised and cushioned heels in shoes helps prevent injuries. Goes on to say that they may in fact increase risk of injury due to the unnatural running style they promote.
AM - Been saying that for a while but to progress onto flats takes patience and a lot of calf soreness (plus the risk of potential achilles/plantar injuries) until you're used to it.
I don't really think the human body is designed to run on unnatural surfaces like roads or concrete which is where many of us do most of our running. Ideally, we would wear minimal shoes (or even run barefoot) and do all our running off road but that's not very realistic. I don't know much about pronation control devices but I'm going to continue to wear shoes with a decent amount of cushioning as long as I mainly run on hard surfaces.

Alert-Trimpell Runners-stay away from Minnie and her bugs.
J8-just think how fast JMC would be if he was bug free., watch the knee!, I think London is more important.
WITGB-apologies, I did a Kwaka as well, forget about last night, hope the evening went well.
