J8, Mr S - good to see you are putting some great sessions in, bodes well for Berlin, v jealous, is on my wish list.
UB- hope all is well with you training/injury wise etc. Are you still doing the HP40 do you think? If so, I would quite like to try and do a recce at some point over the summer, if you are. I am thinking of doing it still, as a last long, long effort prior to Chester.
DTS and anyone who has done it- thinking of trying to do a few fell races as hard training efforts, a la Holme Moss, is Cracken Edge a good choice, in terms of navigability? I know I will be behind people, but is it one where you can get easily lost?!
PPP - Cracken Edge would be fine (although TST would never let you live it down if you did go wrong!) Tegg's Nose on 6th Aug would also be good
best one for a big training effort though would be Gritstone Tryal on 31st July, but that is actually an "O" event - they don't announce the route in advance, you just get given a list of checkpoints and you are left to find your way round however you see fit - I'm thinking of doing it, but possibly not best for you?
Jonah - sounds good, let me know what time, starting point and distance. Looking forward to it. My brother's staying tonight - he's just going through the Sopranos locations with me!
PPP - cracken edge is quite a good workout, 7 mile ish, few hills good runners can do it without a walk. Easy to get round for me, but I get lost in Stockport.
Sheldon Great little race. Proper hills, a down that makes you think 'If I get to the bottom with both ankles I will be doing well' an up that could nearly be run until you turn a corner and find a really steep bit. And a long downhill finish. Pub was nice as well, it was a good night, and no rain or midges. 4 mile 30.19. Not bad
ES - I will meet you at the bottom of station rd near the the petrol station at half 7, FOAR knows where it is I met him there last time I did this run. It's 20 miles.
Eric - Meeting point is basically the junction where you turn left to go to Marple station near the shops/chippy. I'll jog down there with you on Sunday if you like. It's a nice route, a few hills but very scenic .
Thanks Kwaka, if you make a decision today can you let me know. If you are likely to have to re-route then may do a different one this week and WP next week.
Dts, TST- thanks for the info, reckon I might give cracken edge a go if it's a nice eve. Also the gritstone tryal, is it likely to be hard to navigate do u think? I can read a map (ish!).
Celebrated finishing for 6 weeks with a 20 miler this pm, means I get get sh!traced on sat night, brill.
AM - the paths look clear enough but apparently there is also a Car Boot on. If that's the case there will be a strong possibility of the Woodland route past the cricket club.
PPP - I'm keen to do a HP40 recce although I'm not running at the moment as I'm lurgyfied. Checking my planner, what with work and family holidays ahead I'm not going to be around for the next six weekends which takes us into September. Might be able to get a midweek pass if you're about during the daytime.
Anyone see the Diamond League athletics last night, and the fight at the end of the 1500m (and Mo's fantastic win)? Let that be a warning to anyone who beats me at the next Sale Sizzler!
Comments
ES - I was thinking of doing the run I did with Funk a few weeks back, it goes through Lyme park then comes back along part of the BS route.
Do we know how Nexus went on at Sefton park last night?

TST - Well Done at Sheldon sounds good, will have to change the colour-coding on it in my spreadsheet
