Stornoway Marathon Saturday 24th May 2008 and Isle of Harris Marathon on Monday 26th May 2008. There will also be a half marathon option for both events. You don't have to run both marathons or both half marathons but I guess they'll be a few nutters who will do both!
I've been in touch with the organiser and he says the events are definitely going ahead so I offered to start this thread to see if any of you are interested.

There's an airport at Stornoway, I haven't checked flights yet but I know you can fly from Glasgow.
I think flights to the islands are quite expensive, ferries might be the best option.
722 miles journey for me from Devon.
It depends if the 10 in 10 is on and what date that would be.
I'm intending to do them as I'm assuming it's not going to happen every year that they'll have marathons.
Will be an expensive weekend
Email Tony if you have any specific queries.
I am doing the Cape Wrath Challenge again which is from the 11 to 17 may finishing with the marathon. Not sure how I can swing three weekends in a row as would normally have my boys every second weekend but will look at logistics, count me in for now.
Loon Dod - I'm sure you'll work something out
Yes at least it won't be too hot to run.
Are you still thinking about Cape Wrath as well you know you want to.

It costs £2.20 to take you bike on the ferry, cars are £80 for a return journey. Thats this years prices, probably be up in 2008.
You still doing Kent Hipps?
)))))))))
I cant find the wiggly pic
I haven't done any long runs since the District Double. Do you think I should be worried about my ability to do 52 miles next month?!?!
I like the idea of running in the Hebrides and running the bit inbetween too. I must steer clear of this thread!
you will be fine for the 52
You back at work yet?
mortica - It crossed my mind to run the bit in between on the Sunday too. It's about 40 miles, I think.
