I can't be the only hasher on this forum, surely?

It's an international thing that's been going for years, started by ex-pats but now there are umpteen hashes all over the world, including God knows how many in the UK. Every time we go on holiday, we look up the local hash and it's a great way of getting to see the real local area, as opposed to the one the tourists see.

*lays a few blobs of flour and hopes for someone else to pick up the trail*

Dedicated hasher here - CH3/CH4 - tried to push it as being one of best, most democratic of r*nning groups, as only group I know that actually sets r*ns in such a way that slowbees can take a breather and fast r*nners (aka FRB's) can keep up their nasty ways and we still end up in the pub together.

The Harvel 5 which was held last month has hashy overtones - but I think they need a few new songs for the circle (or perhaps they were being polite and omitting ruder ones).

Sinewaif CH4 is the London based 'Catch the Hare Hash' held usually on the second Sunday of every month. The are is selected via some obscure method involving paper and pencil, then given a 5-10 minue start. Whoever catches the hare then becomes the hare. I usually succeed by the expedient of staying in the pub and snaring them as they return.

I havent hashed before but have always wanted to give it a try. Looks like the Leeds hashers dont exist anymore though now that I have actually got the time to do it:-(

Last year was in contact with a hash group with a look to joining up with them whilst I was going to work in Barbados.

At about 3 days prior to going I discovered I had been sorting it out with a hash group in the Bahamas.

I felt a bit of a d1ck at that point !!!!!

Never got round to doing it over here but sounds like good fun (mainly of the drinking kind)

Ah. Difficult one. To be completely truthful I'd given up hashing until recently as I really really REALLY hate cross country and H5 spend much time plodding around the muddy fields in the acme Gary Glitter trainers going nowhere fast. Mr S turned up regularly, but I just went to the socials. The people in H5 are lovely and I missed seeing them, just not enough to put up with the crappy runs. However, we've recently been hashing with the Prague Hash while on holiday, and we had a complete blast camping last weekend with the Cambridge Hash, who do decent runs with a bit of shiggy, but more running than shiggy, and it reminded me of all the things I love about hashing so I'm joining up with Cambridge, hence the whole born-again hashing thread. Mr S is probably going to defect as well, although he's got more to lose than me as he'd be back to 1 or 2 runs whilst he's got nearly 100 under his belt with H5 (trust me, it matters to a Hasher).

Soooo... I'm absoulutely certain that if you e-mailed H5's Scribe (a good bloke called Shagpile) in advance they'd make you very welcome, but me and Mr S won't be there.

Phew - complicated or what!
