Dutch & alib: have been lurking but not posting. Niggle seems better, but not that confident it has completely gone. Will have a trial short run early next week to assess things and then take it from there.
SR: Better to be cautious than end up with an injury. Hope you're out again soon
11 miles for me today with 1.5 miles cross country included. I didnt get lost this time and it was quite enjoyable. I was going to do the park run tomorrow but think I will have a rest day instead. My legs have felt tired since Tuesday!
My last run was Wednesday a 14mls in a tad under 2hours nice gentle run on a sunny evening, really looking forward to tonights run, it will be a little shorter at around 8mls but at a touch quicker pace.
Legs didnt feel too bad today so decided to do the park run then jogged the mile back home. I think I did it in the same time as my PB of around 23.41 but it might have been a second or two either way. Quite pleased as I should be able to do better on fresher legs. Will have another go in about a month.
After a week off any exercise, I returned to the gym today. Managed a 1 mile gentle run on treadmill that seemed to go well. So will return tomorrow and maybe try 2 & 1/2 miles. But while I was there I had just over two hours cross training and doing weights, followed by an hours swimming. It felt good to exercise again.
20.4M on the South Downs way, from Exton to (almost) Winchester. Last half hour was a struggle; it was hot, and I ran out of water, but held it together until the end. 2h:58 min.
Dutch: that sounds a scenic run, I suspect it was hilly too.
Just 2 & 1/2 miles for me on the treadmill, not particularly fast either. Whilst at the gym also had 2 hours cross training which included weights, then a hour long swim. Things appear to be ok with niggle in leg, so will try my luck increasing the distance to 5 miles tomorrow.
Left this one late: 8.7 miles park, trail & beach by the Sefton coast, Waterloo & Blundellsands.
Managed my first deviation from the vertical in months but just a graze or two - which I soon forgot in the face of a fantastically deep orange sunset over Liverpool Bay
My last run was realized on sunday evening. I tried to break trough my last limit and take the best time before lazy weeks of summer . My run follows pubs and restauranst at londonmemory.com
Every joint in my leg strapped up, but managed 5.4 miles. Up hill was a bit painful down the shin, as was running on uneven grass and paths. Pace and general running seemed okay though. I even overtook a cyclist. A very slow cyclist to be fair. The fatigue was more of a problem than the pain, but to be expected. And it was very muggy this afternoon.
My leg aches more since I got back, but just got to persevere.
Good to see so many people posting on here. There's a lot of distance being covered very quickly.
Over the trails, beside the Marina, up the beach - where the soft sand was "challenging" - round the Baths & home through Crosby - fresher and heading for rain. 5 miles in 43:06
Last night was a hour long fartlek session combined with a mile and a half warm up run and the same to cool down, had to take it easy as I have a 5 mile cross country race tomorrow.
Was planning on running today, but horrible dull ache down my shin has been worse since getting back from run on Monday. Something really is not right, so going to the GP instead. Bugger.
0700 - 5 miles round Crosby, Blundellsands & the prom. Met up with two people I see running about the same time as me and had a brief chat - so sociable, this running lark!
Just 4.5 miles at a slow pace at around 4.30pm. Still too hot for me and should have left it until later. I really need to get 8 miles in tomorrow so I am really hoping that it is a bit cooler.
Did a 5k race this evening, bit of an impromptu thing. 19.14. Nothing special but not too bad considering the wind and the fact that I had done 16M (including a tempo 5k) the day before. It felt relatively easy and the legs feel fine immediately after.
