Back from holiday. 4 miles to test the water and see how everything was ticking over as all I did was swim when I was away and lots of walking. A little bit slow but otherwise all good.
Feeling a bit knackered now, and a bit hungry for more swimming, will need to buy some new kit as it's the first time I didn't have clicky knees for a good while.
7 & 1/2 miles for me on the treadmill earlier. Took 1:13, so not the fastest I have run, but did enjoy it. Whilst at the gym also cross trained and had an hour swimming. Finished of with a quick session in the sauna.
Tuzki: yeah, is quite warm at the moment. So good effort.
5 miles for me on the treadmill again, took about 45 minutes. Like yesterday was at gym so also cross trained, did some weights and had an hour swimming.
Afternoon all. 10 miles for me in 1:28, on the treadmill again. Felt really good and did not want to stop. Was at the gym so also did some cross training, weights and swimming.
6.7 miles for me at 8:50 mm pace which is starting to feel a lot easier! I ran the last half a mile at my 5k pace.
Not going to do the park run tomorrow as I feel I need a day off. I would rather do a few more miles on Sunday morning when I am feeling more refreshed and not in a rush to get to get to football.
The run that almost wasn't: about 8pm, I was half & mile into my run and felt a little breathless - to be more accurate, my breathing didn't settle down as it usually does. Soooo..... I returned to base, watched the athletics for 15 mins and tried again. The outcome was 5 miles through Crosby and back down the trails parallel to the beach.
5 miles for me on the treadmill once again in 41 minutes. Was at the gym so also cross trained, did weights and had an hour swimming. Think I will try and try and get some out doors running in next week, it's been a while now since the last time.
Have a good weekend everyone and good luck to anyone racing tomorrow.
On a cut down week so nothing of any note to post.
Did do one interesting session though worth mentioning which was a bit of a killer : 3 mile warm up, 1 mile @ HMP (6.35), 1 mile @ Tempo pace (6.26), 1 mile @ 10k pace (6.13) with 2 mins rest between the sets and then to finish 4 x 200m @ 1500 pace, (5.20)with a mins rest between sets. Hard session and felt suitably fatigued by the end.
12 mile easy run tomorrow morning and getting stuck in again next week with some tasty sessions.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and happy running everybody!!
4.4 miles, which given the ongoing shin problem I'm happy with. Warm, but overcast, with a light breeze. Great for running. Shin strapped and iced, seems okay.
10 miles in the heat, was easier than the last few 10 milers in humidity, pushed my personal best month to a total of 120 miles so i'm really happy with that.
Just a short 5.5 miles for me today. I did plan on doing 8 miles but I felt really tired today and it was quite warm at 9 am. I will have a day off tomorrow and quite an easy week next week as I have a 10K next sunday morning. I will base my target time for the Great North on whatever time I get next week.

Good to see you posting SR!
Me: 8M commute back in about 7:35m/M.
Morning,
5.5M Fartlek Hard. It was helped by it being a bit cooler up here. It's been raining through the night and drizzly now.
Some good trainig going on so cheers to you lot for getting the sessions in.
SR: Echo Dutch, good to see you back.
Left it late last night to avoid the heat - 5 miles up the prom & down the beach & home via the Crosby Coastal Park.
Keep it up, folks!
Nice work everyone
Last nights effort for me.......in the heat
2m warm up, 40 min fartlek and 2m warm down.
Nice on Tuzki!
Me; 6M with 4.5k tempo run, and I pushed it a bit harder than last time. 16:58. That is well under 10K pace, so pleased to see some progress there.

10miles in 1hr 30mins out the wilds of the New Forest on another muggy evening.
Highlight of the run......the group of twelve stags I managed to get within 50yards of before they decided I was to close to and bolted.
Hi folks,
8M back again slightly faster.
now off for the weekend; happy running people and good luck to anyone who has a race on!

Yay for stag sightings!

Will have to keep an eye on that....
Went out with a couple of friends coming back from injuries, so a nice gentle 7.6 miles in 1hr 13mins
Rest day today, just need to plan a route for tomorrows LSR.
Have a great weekend all

Morning
2.5M Easy for me. The same distance and effort as 'my first running diary run' back on 1st August 1984
Some good training going on.
Can I join in?
First race in 5 years. 10k 43.14. Well chuffed
Hi Julie! Well done! Not bad for a first effort in 5 years!
Special mention also to Jamie Russell long busting session!
Me: back from a tiring and gluttinous weekend; just an easy 8M in this morning. Warm and sweaty.
@Julie
Ran 14 miles of fell around Haworth yesterday in around 2 hrs 40, a measure of some of the hills Rather sunburnt too!
This morning's 5-mile recovery run took in the beach & prom - even at 7am, the humidity was very oppressive.
Up with the birds yesterday to avoid the heat.......14.3 miles in 2hrs 15mins
Out for a tempo run this evening.............going to be a hot one
