London Marathon 13th April 2008
Its not quite the time of year the Runners and Supporters get organised but I thought id start a thread early in an attempt to make 2008 the best RW supported marathon ever.
Every year since? members of the forum have arranged a support area at Mudchute, Docklands which is at about 17/18 miles.
Usually we have about 50+ supporters and well over 200 runners, the idea is runners are split between pairs of supporters that can give you that extra special cheer or provide any special needs. After the race we all meet up in the Trafalgar Pub at the Thistle Hotel Whitcomb St (near Trafalgar Square).
Last year a website was set up to coordinate all the arrangement.

Its not time to start adding your names yet but we would really like as many supporters as possible for 2008. Please take some time to look through the website then block the date out in your diary.

As I've suppported RW forumites at many a London mara it would be nice to have it reciprocated :-D
I am running this year (deferred entry from '07) but any pre race help let me know again.
After 4 years service at Mudchute (missed this year as I was moving house that weekend!!!) and as one of the originators of the cheering spot I am finally going to be able to take advantage of your lovely help as I have managed to clock up 5 rejection

Hi folks sounds like a great idea to co-ordinate support for us runners, I'm from Scotland and have got in on my 2nd attempt so am mega chuffed. Have wanted to run FLM since I first watched it on tele many many years ago!!! So now I'll be running it 4 yrs after starting running in Apr 04.
