Arsenal did well last night. I don't think they're jammy at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea weren't really up for it IMHO. Ranieri was talking about the game beforehand saying there were no favourites, that it was 50/50 as to who would win.
Nicko...... I am not a macum, I am Leeds born and bred and lived there for 30 years, I moved up to Durham to get married 17 years ago, but now divorced for 2 years.. BTW, Chester-le street is not Macum land......
Anyone stuck for a game tomorrow come down to Kingsmeadow for a top of the table clash between AFC Wimbledon and AFC Wallingford. Should be a thriller.
Are Wallingford the ones that are miles ahead in the league? Fellow AFC Womble keeps threatening to take me to a game but I've managed to avoid them so far - get promoted & I might think about it.
Wallingford are now only 7 points ahead of AFC Wimbledon, seeing as how we beat them 3-2 on Saturday, only the second match they've lost this season. And we scored our 100th league goal. Do come along for one match before the end of the season.
My son said 'it was 20 times as exciting as all the others put together', mind you he does moan a lot when I drag him along. His sister (otherwise engaged at a party) usually watches avidly and is better than me at remembering players' names.
LFC boy... Not born there, was brought into this world by two northerners who coached me to think that Liverpool were the team for me... anyway, they're better than Bristol city.. Only just, but they are better!
I once tried to support Leeds, brother is a big fan, but a) couldn't bring myself to sing marching on together.. b) Always wondered how the Rovers were getting on. Besides when I was at school it seemed as though just geeks supported Leeds. What were thos garters about.
Respect Square Bear- I remember one particular trip to Bellevue, as we lived in Leeds was easy for us to get back (night match) so went in the bar for a drink afterwards. The player who we thought was a dirty great carthorse was at the next table so we were muttering rather loudly things like "you donkey Whitehurst" Next week who should Crewe sign- yes Billy Whitehurst- wasn't one of our best signings, but went up in my estimation when he wasn't playing in the play-off game at Scunthorpe but led the singing from our end- what a guy, hope he's doing ok these days.
Yes, Billy was a true legend. Played with his heart on his sleeve. I believe he tried to emigrate to Australia but they wouldn't let him in because of his criminal record.
Queens Park Rangers ! I wore the shirt at the Hastings half and was gobsmacked to see another 'hoop' fan at the event. Its always heartening to get a cheer of "Come on u r's" as your legs are about to pack up. Here's to more runners wearing footie shirts at events in the future...
Womble - I've lost touch with Wimbledon FC since I left home in the early 80's.
I followed them from Southern League Premier Div right through to Div 3 - was the Vice Chairman of the Supporters club and did very real battle with Ron Noades when he first tried to get them to Crystal Palace.
Single handed I re-painted the old stand at Plough Lane from white/blue to yellow/blue.
the mighty royals (reading). say we r goin up, say we r goin' up have been for over 17 years. been to wembley twice, cardiff once. two league titles, one cup. the only team to beat 'boro twice in the season when they won the 1st Div and promoted. Got jipped by the FA league when finished 2nd and didn't get automatic promotion.
