Nottingham Forest maniac since 1976 Went to both European Cup wins
Also seen us win 1 League Title 4 League Cups 1 FA Cup (well nearly, We forgive you Des!)
Best 2 moments are
1. Beating Man Utd at Old Trafford in 1989 FA cup q/f, scored right on 45 minutes and had 10000 fans singing all thru half time & into the second half.
2. Beating Spurs with a Roy Keane header in extra time in 1991 League cup semi, after 3 hour bomb scare delay. in the pouring rain, singing Brian Cloughs Red & White army till our voices started going!
Tomorrow - we'll be beating Frimley Green at Kingsmeadow. For a laugh take a look at the CCL website, prem div fixtures & results and look at the attendances. Looks like typos until you realise there's a pattern to it :0)
East Midlands finest : Marlon / Johno / Huckerby goal machines. FOREST !! You are all invited to sit back and watch them demolish Wolves on Friday evening as pre-FLM relaxation !
Derby - I don't really bother so much now but was a season ticket holder for years, first game 75/76 season. To be honest it's a football city much more so than anywhere else around here - see above .
I grew up on the same road that Toddy lived on and played football on the rec with his oldest (not the one that became a pro), Cloughy lived round the corner until he moved to a big house on the outskirts and Nigel was a mate of my brother Jim, you'd always see Archie Gemmil in his sponsored Capri on the way to school, Roy Macfarland was fairly local etc etc Todays players you never really see about apart from the young ones down town of an evening. I've got a recent picture of me, my son and Dave McKay at the Baseball Ground - if I can scan it in it's going up as my photo on here for a bit. If you are wondering if my son will be grateful when he grows up supporting ManU he wont because his middle name is DERBY haha its true I'm afraid - just added it in at the registry office as a surprise!
but also:
Soft spot for ColU as I used to go along to their old Friday night games when they first came back up from non-league. What was the manager called again - the big centre forward. Kinsella used to play for them with McGavin up front.
StMirren - first team I was ever taken to see, Love Street, preseason game vs Newcastle. Fave player was Frank McGarvey
Rangers - my grandads team, used to think Davie Cooper was the fantastic.
