Which one is you Shmaggle? Looks like you had a ball, did you write a race report anywhere? The girl in the middle has my same hair colour/body weight I would say.
No swimming this weekend for us as my little girl Natasha has been sick in the pool so it's now being extra chlorinified and won't be usable till tomorrow...
I am third in from the left, dark hair. Haven't written a race report yet. We had such a laugh - took us three hours, but we danced on stage with elvis, ran round roundabouts, jived with the blues brothers, kept being stopped for photos and interviews...ooh, and chased some firemen! We had a ball!!! Never done a race like that before, usually head down and run alone.
let's move swiftly to swimming! Another family effort for a total of 160 (exactly 40 each but done with great difference in speed and ability) for a total of 740/1760
Well done team Mabelle! I didn't manage to swim today - I got up to find I look lke a hamster, neck glands so swollen! Don't want to go to doc BUT may have to...
So I am now 2 miles behind my schedule, going to have to do extra next week once this blasted lurgy goes!!
Bloody nora, 35 or 40 miles! And I am sat looking at my marathon training plan thinking 'how am I going to do this'! Are you a marathon runner who just wanted to go further? Will you do even longer ones?
Sorry, I know this thread is about the swim but being an ultra runner is really interesting! Don't u think, Mabelle!! What length races do you do?
Think about how amazing you will feel when you can do the distance then Mabelle............I bet on August 24th you wouldn't have imagined being able to run for 40 minutes, I know I couldn't when I first started.
358/1408...back in the pool today, hurrah!!! I do feel much better, thanks - still croaky but head has cleared!!
Well done Mabelle! You are zooming along!
Hmm, better try a run tomorrow....kill or cure!
How you getting on, Dustboy?
And I dream of Ironman, Ultra...just dreaming though, think I may have left it too late in life to achieve that!! We'll see what happens as I get fitter...have been wondering about London Triathlon year after next....a but put off that it might all be athletes and not mortals though! At least in London Marathon you can guarantee lots of other slow runners....
Sprints are brilliant (just spilt my coffee all over my desk in my excitement there ) do Stratford in May...................loads of first timers and a fun distance if you want it.

Did a tri, I reckon I should count those lengths too!
Reckon you should count ALL the lengths you do, it all adds up, Ultra!
Just got back from Newcastle - what a day! Check this out:

and we were on the highlights show - we walked behind Carol Vorderman as she was being interviewed! Fame at last!
Now, back to swimming...hmm...

Blimey, you are doing well, I had better do some lengths in the morning!
Is your swimming getting better, reckon you can try without the float yet? It must be making you more confident?!
Well done on GNR Shmaggle, sounds like great fun!
Sounds like your team are doing really well Mabelle.
I think I am now 389/1408
Well I did one Ultra last year and changed my name then.
Have 2 planned for early next year.

Look after yourself Shmaggle, you dont want to make it worse!
Last years ultra was 35 miles. Nexy one is 40 I think then I will do the 35 again.
Well done team Mabelle. I have not done much swimming this week, may do a bit tomorrow but am away the weekend.

Well I had done a few marathons and wondered if I could go further, turns out I could, well once anyway! Will find out if I can do it again soon.
Not sure if I will go further yet, want to do a half ironman distance tri next year to see if that is the way forward.
races... er... I don't.... dont's know if I ever could really, I have started running August 25 and at the moment I am up to 40 minutes of running.
But AJH you are wonderful. And so are you Shmaggle. A half marathon seems like an awfully long distance to me!
hi there 950/1760
are you better shmaggle?
Woohoo!

Struggling with the time to swim, manage an hour a week at a push.
Shmag, try a sprint, lots of fun.
