I've been getting very de-hydrated after my long runs, no matter how much water I've drunk either before, during or after. I know that a drink like Lucozade Sport will help but I want to try and find a more "natural" way to re-hydrate.
Does anyone have a receipe for a homemade rehydrator that I could pinch? Or am I wrong about Luco Sport? Is it more natural than the over bright colours and artificial taste suggest??

You could do 50% of any fruit squash or fruit juice and 50% water with a pinch of salt.
Personally, I can't drink Luco Sport - it tastes vile!
Try Dihydrogen monoxide.
apparantly glycerine/glycerol incerases the body's ability to store water. In theory reducing chances of dehydration???
Surely though at this time of year getting overly dehydrated is difficult as its cooler?
The new flavours of Lucozade Sport actually make me thirsty. Have given them up now and just drink water.
Water, the home made recipes with salt should all do it.
If you think you need salts if you sweat a lot - I use Nuun tabs for Marathons - if its hot and I havent taken salts on - I'll cramp up.
I find it doesn't have to be hot for me to de-hydrate, though obviously when it is, it's worse.
Thanks for all the comments. I'll give a 50/50 water/fruit juice mix with a dash of salt a try. And seek out some Nuun tabs too.
One quarter orange juice
One quarter cranberry juice
Half water
Lovely, and does the trick for me!
