I took up running earlier this year and a couple of weeks ago took part in an 8K charity run, which I managed to complete in 45.5 minutes .
I want to carry on running, but with the shorter days I am finding myself restricted to weekends. I prefer to run 'off-road' and do not think it is safe to do this in poor light. I have considered road running for the winter, but my partner is not happy about me being out on my own after dark. I am therefore thinking of getting a treadmill for winter training. Which is best, a manual or motor driven one? I am tempted to go for manual, not just because it is cheaper, but in my mind it is more akin to running outside i.e. speed is dependent on me!
Any advice would be gratefully received.
