It is flat save for two small and short hills. And anyway the uphills are compensated for by a long downhill finish.
It's a great course
- as long as it isn't snowing...
i`ve ran the last 4 years,the last 3 yrs wearing a garmin and its always come out at 13.1 spot on.
it is quite hilly and the country roads can be a real bugger if icy,i reckon its a great race with a very high quality field,1;22;20 in 2007 only got me 69th place

It cant be THAT hilly, i did 2.25 with brinchitis, and you know how slow I am

and i remember a very icy morning for the 4 Villages - i reckon it would have been cancelled except for 1800 runners waiting for the off
I`m on the confirmed list,this will be my first Four Villages and wondering what to expect? Any hints on training for this one,I did the L`pool half this year in 1.50 hoping to be a little quicker than that.
still not on the list and cheque not cashed. WTF??
Am planning a trip up to Helsby to drive the course. In fact I might even run it. If anyone wants to join in please say and we'll fix a date.

Nah you don't smell... But what you are proposing sounds like training ? and that would never do !!!
Also as I live within 500 yds of the route, I know it well enough to know where all the hills are
