B how can you not do it if it's local? You know you want to! I'm doing it cos I love Brighton, would like to try a mara (not sure I can do it!!), and it's my birthday that week... it's like a calling
I've always told people that 'I'm never going to run a marathon' but as I'm from Brighton I've changed my mind as it seemed foolish not to. I'm sure the entry will be by ballot next time due to it being popular.
I guess I'll also be doing the 10km and the 1/2 mara as part of my training plan!
The way I feel at the moment I will be happy just to complete the course!! Ran 13k yesterday thought I had done well - felt awful - then realised that I only had another 29k to go - then felt worse!!
Also is there any one out there computer literate i am trying to download a pic of myself and can only assume that it is too bit as it will not work - any suggestions?? many thanks
gmike hello there I also spoke to my PT who feels that the half mara plan he's put me on, combined with the full mara plan (including RUNNING the Benfleet 15) that 5:00 would be acceptable. I need to explain the 3:54 was the time I'd LIKE to run it in... i.e. to beat you - I know I can do it!
Looking at the course, I would say it is pretty flat with the exception of the 5-10 mile stretch. Def some hills on this bit but not sure how bad (espec around ovingdean / Rottigdean).
How exciting - a brighton marathon !! Just signed up - I would agree it will be pretty flat for the majority of the course but you can't get to Rottingdean without going up a hill unless you use the undercliff walk which is clearly not the case if it goes to ovingdean. Oooof I hope it's not windy on the day....
I can't make up my mind about this one. I grew up in Portslade so this would be like going home, and it will be the first one, so its tempting. BUT £43, it's so expensive. Decisions, decisions...
Thats expensive. The normule races cost me a mere £20 to £35 like Eden , Angelsey or even Loch Ness. But 45 abit costly.I hope it includes good Medal and a T-Shirt?
I would normally only expect to pay £25-30 for a marathon, but it would be good to run the first Brighton marathon. It's hard to justify on the costs though.

Good Afternoo:Michael
or even the Best Marathon in Runners World should be worth while altrough good 100% Medal an T-Shirt should be worth it
The Worst One was The Calendon Marathon Wiltshire. What Rubbish Medal and NO T Shirt if you late coming in inwhich you paid for?
