Did not make it all the way to minis on the bike Saturday but saw photos last night of the amount of water in the Dykes te he is gonna be fun !! Glad im only cycling this year so my running partner will have the delights of the dykes
Went swimming with my tri club last night and there is at least one other fellow nutcase from Ashford Tri coming along.
Mark, re marshalling I'm afraid Bobo can't this weekend. Junior has scholarship exams in 8 weeks so is flat out preparing for them. Between us we will help swell the ranks of marshalls at other events rest assured. Sorry we can't help this weekend.
Just found this thread - I entered on the 29th with my cycling partner, what's this about 10ft dykes?? I thought it was going to a nice X-country run, what's going to happen to my silk running top, cashmere scarf and £400 Mikey go faster trainers?
Seriously though, really looking forward to this it'll be my first time here but just a little worried as whether I'm in or not as my cheque hasn't been cashed yet
well wasnt that fun ! we could have done with a bit more mud though
Well done to everyopne who completed this very challenging event (and I only had to do the bike bit)
A huge thanks to ALL the marshalls it must have been cold out there today but you still all had a smile on your face and encouragement for everyone THANK YOU!!!
I will see some of you back out there next week at the cross country league the rest of you see you next year
Did you see the cyclist with the shopping basket on the front?
I thoroughly enjoyed watching all those hardy souls going through the four dykes. Well done to all of you, I thoroughly enjoyed marshalling today, but just try and stop me from taking part next year
mate i was f**ked hello to the female marshall at end of bike ride/run back onto the firm stuff (i was number 2 yes i think i did at least 5 circuits!!!) cheers i was crap but hayho life is for living...... I WILL BE BACK.
I've just about got the energy to post...............
Wow, what a race. That was the most fun I've for a long time. As ever the TRRACy marshals and organisation was first class. Every single marshal said something encouraging which was wonderful and had me going around all 3 laps of the marshes with a stupid grin on my face! And they must have been freezing out there - comments ranged from "your looking really strong" (not strictly true as i was plodding along near the back) to CB yelling "come on you lazy bast***, even the runners are over taking you" on my second bike leg (cheers Bill) , they all made me LOL at every marshaling point.
I have never ever been as dirty as i was after that race - I had no idea even my face was covered until I got home and the family just roared with laughter at the state I was in.
10/10 to the TRRAC team (as always). Another very repeatable success. Good way to start the year - even if it was gruelling with a capital G R U E L L I N G.
If only I had got my finger out ( and stayed on the bike a bit more) we could have had a podium finish. Oh well there is always next year ! Assuming my running team mate wants me in his team next year

I've plugged the event round here....so you may get some takers...
LOL! Happy new year Seoul Man

PSC don't you worry - Bobo marshalled more last year than a great many of our so called members!! Good luck to Junior
i'm marshalling at the beginning of the cycle route as per last year so will be yelling abuse - sorry encouragement!

Well done to all those happy people who took part today!!!
I was the last marshal you went past on the run towards the finish and I was impressed with all the happy smiling faces!
What a brilliant race - I only did the running bit because the tassles on my handlebars are a bit embarrassing.
Do you know when the results will be available?

Hopefully the results will be on the Thanet website by midweek - they take a bit of working out and verifying!!
Hope no-one else apart from Current Mr F had encounters with dogs!
Results are up.
