Just got back in front of a computer...firstly (((((((((((((Squishy)))))))))))))))))))))...get well soon girl....
Great to meet Pirates old and new...or old and not so old.....whatever....
Really enjoyed the day....my best half IM swim....bike was about the same but the run was horrendous...had cramps from the moment I got off the bike but somehow managed to shuffle/walk the whole distance....the most painful 2hrs+ of my life so far....and the slowest half I have ever done....
Thanks to PSC for the company in the last bit of the 'run'....and general heartfelt thanks to all the supporters....it really does help...same goes to the Tritalk lot...they were great too...
Quads are still pretty shredded and the calf that gave way again after 2 miles is still pretty sore so no running for me for about 10 days or so...will swim a bit this week and start biking at the weekend....
Melissa, I'll probably have to do one for the intranet at work...(yeah, I'm some kind of celebrity...)...so if I do, I'll also post it on here....probably a bit boring for most but I enjoyed most of it...so what the feck....
A Red Cap or Redcap, also known as a powrie or dunter, is a type of malevolent murderous goblin, elf or fairy found in british folkloe. They inhabit ruined castles found along the border between England and Scotland. Redcaps are said to murder travelers who stray into their homes and dye their hats with their victims' blood (from which they get their name). It is said, redcaps must kill regularly, for if the blood staining their hats dries out, they die. Redcaps are very fast in spite of the heavy iron pikes they wield and the iron-shod boots they wear. Outrunning the buck-toothed little demons is quite impossible; the only way to escape one is to quote a passage from the Bible They lose a tooth on hearing it, which they leave behind
Hope no one minds but just popped in to say well done everybody at the Vit. It's been great reading all about it. Best wishes to Squishy, that must of been scary.
Just with Bala I am writing a monster report. I'll post a link soon! I would post more on this thread but the only internet access where I'm currently working is in the pub, and I'm not allowed there during work hours!
I am rapidly coming to the conclusion too! Lol. I was strangely elated to be moved up an age group at Vit into the 45+ group, but then disappointed to realise that over half of that group are still much faster than me!
Shuffles off to polish my boots and put my red coat on.
You and me both Pebble - I thought it might be fun mingling with the uber-athletic ladeees in their transition, then I realised I was nearing the end of the AG range at Vit and reality hit home! I guess the aforementioned uber athletic ladee types were not going to be in the slighted interested in my geriatric gyrations which otherwise pass as shedding a wetsuit!!
FB, we can but dream that, with ongoing training and plenty of beer, we too can be as quick on our own zimmers!
I thought it quite funy that the older gentleman at Bala were given pink hats to wear...................I can imagine what the younger bunch would have done if given pink hats...................... not a good colour for anyone to be wearing when they all look a bit comical.

(((Squishy))) hope you are mending.
Anyone writing more detailed race reports? Always helpful to see, for virgins and hussies alike.

((((((((squishy)))))))) Hope your collarbone heals as new
Kanga - another definition of red cap is military police (you don't want to mess with them either). They wear red berets.
