Beduffshirl - cool, I'm blue start pen 9 - though I'm not sure what I'm wearing as I'm waiting for my stuff to arrive - it's definitely black top, black bottoms - but bound to be covered in my sponsors logo....

Forgot to say I'm quite short, and a little ginger so even easier to spot
Be great to have some peeps to run/walk with - I am soooo nervous that I havent trained enough - my longest is 13
Bedhuffshirl - don't panic about your longest run being 13 miles - ultimately it's what's in your head that gets you through the distance, you'll be fine, go in it with a postitive mental attitude and enjoy youself!!
I've picked up my kit - it's black with 'The martial arts place' logo on front and back and thigh....
Hey Paul, I was thinking about you in the heat, were you ok? I came in slightly better than our time - but still off my target time - officially I was 5hours, 4 minutes. Sadly my IT band blew up at mile 7 and got bad by mile 10 - 16 miles is a very long way to limp!!
Hope everyone else from the thread made it round safely xxx
Paul - don't be disheartened - you and I know it's tough in those costumes, it was a hot day and there were more runners taking part than previous years, it was a very crowded course with lots of us taking walk breaks.
Did anyone wear a gps watch? I looked at my details today and realised that if I hadn't stopped for the loo at mile 17 I would've gone sub 5 hours by 14 minutes!! Those loo breaks kill you!!!
Well done to everyone that took part - it was a tough race and a hot day, we should all be so very proud of what we accomplished
Thanks Penny. Still disappointed as training had gone so much better this year. Missed you helping me during the last 4 miles, of which I really struggled. Just like our year, I started and finished with a fellow pink lady apple, though this time he caught up with me with just 400 metres to go.
Didn't do a toilet stop apart from on the start line with a well hidden bottle like last time drank lots as it was hot, but didn't wee for about six hours. Did pass lots of people queuing for the loos.
Paul - I managed to find another runner that got my walking treatement lol! I just caught up and we kept pace right up until I encouraged him to run with me from 400m.
I kept an eye out for Pink Lady apples and only saw 1 (can't remember the name on it though!). At least I wont feature n any of your photos this year
What distance did people have on their Garmin's? Just looked at mine and it says 27.25! I knew my watch was getting further and further 'ahead' of the mile markers, but I am still a little surprised! Must have meandered lots!!!!
I think mine got a bit lost around the isle of dogs. At one point apparently I ran (swam) half way across the thames and back. Must have been the tall buildings?!
You have to follow the blue markings to get the correct distance which is difficult, when you have to bob and weave round the walkers that affects your garmins.
LOL, my garmin said 26.7 - it really is the combination of the tall buildings at docklands and (as Old Timer says) the weaving around. Hahaha, if I take the extra distance off along with the loo stop - well - then I got a massive pb
Well done everyone - you're all heroes!!! Anyone heard from Rob??
I really struggled out there on Sunday..my foot was agony from 8 miles and my calf came out in sympathy shortly afer. I don't think I drank enough in the first 8 miles either...was very hot! ANyway, managed to limp my way to the finish in about 6 hours 9 mins....almost an hour outside my PB!
MWW - sounds excrutiating! BUT, you got round - which is amazing all things considered!! I think everyone suffered on Sunday - many many runners I've spoken to (who normally complete around 4.15 - 4.30) were all around 30 mintes slower on Sunday than their usual finishing time - so to get round in one piece...? well, we all did well

Good luck for tomorrow everyone!
Am not running tomorrow, but wish I was! Have run it a couple of times as a "Just Get Round" person.
Good luck to all tomorrow. Enjoy it, it's fantastic!
Thanks Madaussie and suerunner.
I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, and hopefully meeting some of you guys in Blue start pen 9
I'll be wearing a Reading FC shirt (probably the only one in the whole race!), and on the back it says "Andy" and under that is a large 13.
I'll look out for DdD and BDS.

Mornin' all.
Can't belive I made it into work this morning. How did it go? It was sooo hot.
DdD - brilliant running!
I saw Rob - he passed me at Mile 11. I spoke with Suewright4 when I was running with Mattys Mum.
I'm glad I finished, but it was a plodding 5:45 ish.
Well done all. Good to have finished.
Yes, it is a long way!

Two years ago my Garmin said I did 26.72.
Well done everyone - you're all heroes!!!
