I'd like a pirate kit but me in lycra would not be aesthetically pleasing!

You training for a tri then??  image
  • I've kept a food diary for years but I think now I just gloss over the entries such as "6 doughnuts" D'oh! Nuts.
  • He he, thanks for sorting it for me Bear! I look very startled!

Pea I'm quite excited as well! Don't forget, it officially starts tomorrow so enjoy the chocolate whilst you still can! Ohh, I just remembered I've only had a bit of toast today so far, maybe I should have a banana or something......hhhhmmmmm

KK - You will make an excellent thread coach - dig out your whistle!

  • No Nam, I would just like to be a pirate!! I have a pirate logo on here - am I actually allowed it if I don't do tri?!

I'll find a daily inspirational quote to keep you all going image

Like...   image  "Step away from the creme eggs!!!"
  • I think that one might be needed when they start getting them in at the shops pretty soon!!

  • I think I'm fine resisting stuff if I don't have it available easily - it's the snacking on stuff that I have in a cupboard.  F'rinstance, I have cereal for brekkie most days now but I have a habit of eating handfuls of it dry - and can get through quite a bit of it this way image
  • LOL Bear! And the reason I'm laughing is because that's why I used to do quite a lot at uni!
  • 'what' not 'why'

    Er...

You could committ yourself to doing one next year, that way you might get away with it....

  • Ooops, they didn't ask for proof when I signed up I just liked the pretty logo - I don't want to de-pirate though?! Can I be a pirate supporter?

Ask me when I'm drunk and I'll probably sign up for anything!
  • Wahey! May have to remember that......image

You can be a pirate in training!!  I would consider myself that...  What do you think Bear...  I think one of her New Years resolutions would be...

"to earn my pirate badge"  image

  • sounds good to me - could be any old tri, doesn't have to be an IM.

I'm focussing on sprint tris with a view of hopefully managing an Oly in the autumn...  it's not IM (yet...) but it's all 'Pirate Training'....

Sooo... come one Aitch....  Neath Sprint in May... very Newbie friendly... or shall I ask in a few hours...?

  • Please explain what it involves, I know running swimming and cycling but what distances are we looking at?

Coops - how did I know you'd be around to comment??!
  • I own the forums, of course I'd be around to comment.

  • typically 400m swim, 20k bike, 5k run image
  • Off to enjoy my last night of food & booze........ image

Have a good eve everyone - starvation starts tomorrow image

  • Ooooh, that sounds do-able for H! Which order? Is that one a speed thing? Is this what you're doing Nam? I though all tris were mammoth distances for some reason.....
  • I am on board for this one.

This morning I was 10st 11lb. 5'4". Size 16-18. My problem is that *all* the fat puddles around my middle & boobs. I have spindly legs/arms, and I suspect my bones are made of polystyrene; I find it very difficult otherwise how to understand people my weight who are a size 12 or so. I was a size 12 about 3 years ago - when I weighed 8.5 stone. I have to get back into serious training to get that low, though - I have managed 9.5 stone through diet modification, but never less. And I prefer to work it off through exercise & eat reasonably normally.

it'll still take something like an hour, even for the winners, and plenty of others will be well over 90 mins at a guess

  • I have no idea what those links are at the bottom of my post.
  • quimby - u must be my ywin cos I keep my fat in the same places image.  I am same height just heavier image.

never mind we will conquer this invasion of fat!

  • soz - ywin - twin image
  • Pea, I sympathise, but I am glad I am not the only one! I despair at some people who moan to me "oh, I'm 11 stone now - I am thinking I might need a size 14". Argh!

Right, the thread has inspired me. I am off next door to the exercise bike. I have a Toffee Crisp to work off. Back later.
