Anyone doing this, and has experience of previous runs?
Keeping reading about it's PB potential.

Yes it is quick and attracts some very fast runners, as the course is just straight out and back you can see the leaders (or the masses depending on your speed) coming back from the turn. The course clims very slightly to halfway then it is a gradual descent for the 5k back to the finish

I did this race 4 years ago and enjoyed it much better than the Abbey Dash which was rather over crowded. This race has atmosphere with the right amount of runners to generate this.
I've heard this year that all runners will be chipped.
Should be fun!
I'm part of the masses too
my 3rd time running this, it is very well organised and has great pb potential, flat course, ever so slight incline on the way out so ever so slightly downhill on the way back and it's chipped so you don't have to worry about where you start

I'll be there too - hoping it'll be a good confidence booster for the Liversedge half the week after (gulp)
Must be PB potential as I've PB'd there in the last 2 years.
Watch where you line up though as last year I thought I was pretty near the start only to find that loads of runners had left it to the last minute and was suddenly way off the front. Reckon it cost me a minute in the first mile wading through people but I won't make the same mistake again!
Knocked four minutes of my pb at Brass Monkey yesterday. So omens look good for this too!! 58:52 to beat!

I have been struck down with chest infection and bad back but I aim to be back in action. If not, I will still give you a lift anyway! Are you local (not that I expect you to post your address on this forum!!!)
Hope you don't mind waiting for me at the end as you are fast and I have had a 4 month lay-off!

Ah well Rhea I have several names, not of my choosing, people just seem to like giving me nicknames of their own for some reason but Seamus seems to be the most popular although it's not my club nickname. It can be a bit confusing remembering if I'm in the pub, at work etch which one i'm answering to, gets even more confusing when different groups are in the same vicinity all calling me summat different!
Sorry to hear you'e not well if ur not doing Dewsbury there's plenty of others going down so no need to worry bout a lift.

Hi folks
I received my race number and timing chip in the post yesterday. Since this is the first race where I've had to use a chip are we meant to put it in our socks? It has a rather peculiar shape to it!

I got my number - it's number 3! This is scary as people will think I am elite. Perhaps it will have some uplifting effect on me.
I received my number and things yesterday but unfortuanatly the chip is missing. The white envolope with my race number on had a small tear in the side. I would really like a chip if theres someone that can help! This is my 3rd time at this event and normally beat my PB hence why I enterd and why I'm desperate for my chip. I have mailed Bernard Diskin but no reply as yet please, please help my race number is 398.
