Hi all managed my longest run for 2 months,I can slowly feel the confidence creaping back. That's 5 runs this week with 31miles done. 10.52miles@7.49m/m=1.22.13. Wolfy i'm sure you can still come if you really want to please try!
Done a 5 mile race yesterday and managed it in a respectable 37:40. Which is not bad considering the amounts of alcohol consumend at a wedding reception the night before. I didn't throw up either!!
Well..... I may well just be mixing your energy drinks! Had a slight 'accident' whilst running on sunday. Ran full force onto a huge piece of glass, straight through trainer and straight through foot. I was apparently lucky not to do some nerve damage. A pleasant trip to a Dutch A&E department and an interesting tetanus (how was I supposed to know as I was undoing my trousers that thye don't jab you in the ass over here!). Think this is the lords way of telling me to slow down.
On the plus side I did just buy a flat....so every cloud
Can't run, can't even walk. Shouldn't take long to heal though, no serious damage done. A wound anywhere else is easy since you're not forced to put pressure on it. Under the foot is a bu**er though. You have no choice but to constantly use force on it. It makes me feel physically sick just to stand :-0
Still undecided on which race to do. When I finished Plymouth half the other week I thought that I would stick to the half but I did a 12.5 mile run on Sunday at near enough the same pace and felt more confident. October is a long way away
Saw her in Prague a couple of weeks ago, but haven't managed to catch her on messenger since, and haven't got around to emailing her yet, which is very remiss of me!
Her and her friend achieved Pb's in Prague so they were happy.
I did Plymouth half and no injuries, so am now looking forward to Amsterdam!
Hows your training and dare I say................... old injury?
My training is going remarkably well <touching wood> so far thanks... official marathon schedule doesn't start for a few weeks yet though so I'm enjoying running how I want, where I want and how far I feel like going at the moment
My leg is behaving itself too. I've just received my next appointment through to see my consultant. It's not until 18th July though. It's just to discuss the next step and possible options.
Did Glo mention anything about Amsterdam when you saw her?
Yes, she's really keen, and is fairly certain that hubby can be persauded, particuarly as they will come to sunny (?) Cornwall for a week or so after.....
Hi all, I've had another under par performance at the dorney dash.My aim was to get near to 45mins, i started off quickly 6.45 for the first mile but faded badly it was very hot in the sunshine with no shade whats so ever. I am dissapointed as I haven't seen much improvement over the last two months. I came in in 46.40, still over 3minutes slower than my fastest this year we would have won the first team prize if I had performed better. I have another 10k on Sunday fingers crossed. I did manage a 8 mile run yesterday the first 4miles was ok 31.18 then I struggled for the next 4miles 33.07 and it was scorching. Maybe I will find form for the marathon?
Well done DR on your PB at least someones doing something right. I've just got back from another 8 miler. It's very hot out there. first 4miles 31.07 second 4 miles 31.02= 1h02m09s.
Hi all, i did the wargrave 10k this was the toughest so far with the undulations.I improved slightly with a net time of 46.06 and a gun time of 46.19.At least iam improving.

Lucky about the foot, are you ok to run on it or do you need to rest it for a while?
I think is the lords are telling you to look where you are going not to slow down.
Congrats on the but of the flat.
H.... Ouch! Just the thought of doing that makes me go cold.
Hope u make a speedy recovery...I have a friend who severed an artery in his foot in a very similar way...

Thanks for the kind words though...
So I guess I should get round to sorting out travel and some digs.
Do those nice ladies in the windows do bed and breakfast I wonder
Amsterdam will be my third mara of this year. I did Shakespeare in April and I've got South Downs next Saturday.
So I've had a mixture of recovery from one ,then building up to the next one. Did 18 miles today.
< whispers subliminal message in musketeers direction >
do the full.......
How is the foot H?
Hopefully feeling a little better?
Hey Tigger... How's it going? Have you heard from Glo recently?
Hi Trin,

Hi Tigger... well done for Plymouth!

Well I did Southend Half Marathon on Sunday in 1:43:22. Which is 3mins improvement on my PB and 9 mins from my best time on this course.
Choclatelog, you will get better, don't get too upset.
hi thier,
is this forum just for the 26.2 runners? or can the 13.1 wimps (like me) join in too?
carrot top... you're not a wimp, just slightly less insane that's all
Carrot Top.... that makes me a wimp too, cos I am doing the half...
Of course you may join in!
There aint no wimps here on this thread... we're all runners, regardless of distance
DR forgive me... it just registered with me what you posted 3 days ago (I've had a lot going on and my brain is laggin a bit!)
But that's brilliant... 3 minute PB and a 9 minute course best!!! Well done
Tigger... hope not, we're not that scary are we?
Thanks Trinity.
Carrot T will be back we are a good bunch
well done on your PB Choclatelog!
erm... I don't want to worry anyone but realised today that the marathon is exactly 18 weeks away!
