You wont get lost going to Paddock Wood. Look for signs to the Hop Farm, loads and loads of them everywhere, the brown road signs, then look for the Paddock Wood signs once you get close. Whatever direction you come from It's one main road through the town and the start (Eldon way) is off that road.
Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, I'll have pink bobbles in my hair, didn't get ribbon as it always used to fall out as a kid.
Here's a tip for those of you looking for postcodes. If you go to mapquest.co.uk and type in the name of a road and town in the uk you will get a map and post code.
Hi John stone 3, I just tried and had the same problem.
According to the race director you can enter on the day but there are more entries this year. They recommend getting there around 8.45 to guarantee a place. Don't forget the clocks go forward too!
Pam, have texted you but just in case you don't see the message. Tracey has left a message on my answerphone this morning asking me to make sure you know that there are buses replacing the trains this weekend. They heard on the local radio and have seen lots of rail replacement buses around.
Good to catch up with so many peeps. Fab running from Pammie and Hipps. Congrats on superb pb's.
Dreadful run for me. Didn't expect much tbh but hadn't planned to walk a large part of the last three miles. Was happily trucking along at c8.20-8.30 pace for first five miles but then got a stitch-like pain in my right side. It kept going off and then flaring up again, then (possibly cos I was favouring the right side in an effort to sort the stitch out) my left hip started playing up. It became more and more painful so decided that caution was in order so resorted to jog/walk. As soon as I finished the hip pain stopped but my side was still niggling and became really painful when I picked up my bag. Drive home was really uncomfortable and, typically for once, I stopped a tad too far away from the booth at the tolls at Dartford and really had to stretch. Awful pain shot right up my side and was in distinct discomfort for the rest of the journey. Just had a nice soak. Hip feels perfectly ok, no residual discomfort but my side is bloody painful. I can only think I must have pulled something but what/how I don't know.
Hey ho, not what I needed to restore my motivation/confidence but c'est la vie!!
Ouch Ultra kaz, that sounds really painful. Its a long shot but could you have cracked a rib or something, my hubby's cracked his twice sneezing and once playing golf, apparently easily done.
Congrats everyone on your pb's, I didn't expect one myself but pleased to have got the 23 miles under my belt. Stratford will be my first marathon in 5 years so it's nice to know I can do it, its only 3 miles more after all .
Good to meet some forumites there. I was hoping to have a chat with hipps, been chatting here for about 3 or 4 years and not met her but she is not hippo sized and is not a plodder either so didn't have a chance for a chin wag before she sped off with Tracey G and some others who's names I cant remember right now!
It is surprisingly easy to do but can't see that I did anything that would have resulted in a cracked rib. Then again I can't think how I could have pulled something. Only contortions I got into were in the portaloo before the race!!
Good running there Sunluver. Stratford here you come!!!
I had the same discrepancy between my GPS (1:31:05) and the chip time (1:32:24). I remember I got a shock when I saw the clock on the lead car on the final straight (matched the chip time, roughly) and realised that once again I was going to miss that elusive 90 minutes. Then again, I was faster than last year so I'm reasonably happy.
Right, off to the pub for a bit of "guilt free" drinking.

I usually do too altho' Great Bentley was worst given that I'd somehow read the start time as 9.30 not 10.30!!! Oops!
See you tomoz!!
