Anyone doing this one?
Thought I might use this as a training run, starting steady and then doing 15M at marathon pace from 5M to the finish.
Anyone got any input on the course - it's a new course this year, right? Is it really flat? Are the mile markers usually accurate? Any other info?
cheers

The new course (used for the first time in 2007) uses an old railway route heading north, a loop around Long Riston then back more or less the same way. It is often blowing a gale for this race but fingers crossed for calm conditions.
You can also get a shower, tea & buns in the clubhouse post race.
I'll be there, hope to see you on the day.
Wardi,
Thanks for the info mate.
Be great to see you there.
How's your marathon prep going?
Hoping for circa 2:15 at Hull if the conditions are good. Trying to get on the V50's podium {O:
Other titbits.. plenty of parking close to HQ & the start. Also you have to pre-register at the clubhouse before the race starts.
*Shudders at thought the wind last year*
At times was getting blown sidewards LOL
Never known it like that before though !!
It is a good race to do in preperation for London though and great as not on your own .
Good Luck
A cracking 20 miler, well organised and great for London preparations. Just hope they can turn the wind off this year!!!
Wicked...... youve made the right decision....... i'll be there, so what more could you ask for ha ha.
Hi guys, youve mentioned the magic words....... "its flat" ...............sorted
not doing Lincoln!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , this flippin work malarky shouldnt get in the way of running.
Another marathon too eh, is bungay that tough one?
See myself having to run with wing mirrors on so i can keep an eye on you mate.

Hi their
i have entered this one (although not received my number yet ),
Are you very exposed to the wind on the cource? or was that just extreme weather last time? i can remember the day it was on last year and the weather was auwfull, worst long run of the winter, i ended up sheltering under a bridge to get away from the hailstones and gave up half way round.
Blimey carrot top...... cant you sleep, posting at 2.03 in the morning ha ha.
This my first time at this event so cant help im afraid, sure it'll be a good day tho. If it is hailstones think i'll be staying in the car and drive round.
No number for me yet either.
think i know who you are Matt....... tho a lot of people went past me in the last couple of miles ha ha, did your blue top have white markings on?
the pre register thing is a new one on me, maybe they just want to know who has actually turned up on the day itself. 20 miles will be the furthest ive ran, did stamford 30k the other week, that was good.
Pleased with performance yesterday, shouldnt have really as ive got a cold and a chest infection but didnt want to miss it. Supposed to be at reading half on sunday but thats up in the air at mo, will see how i am. Wanted to go for a PB there but cant see me beatin 1.28 in the state im in at present.
Just checked post....... no number.
Ennerdale, HU7 3DD) as it looks the closest to the start at the club house (if that's right). Any other suggestions welcome.
Hi all,
I'll be there as part of my London preparation.
The entry details have said that there are bottled water stations - by that are they saying that there won't be any energy drink stations? I'm thinking of taking a couple of packs of Lucozade with me to see how I get on with the stuff.
In terms of London preparation, is there any reason why I shouldn't run it at my planned marathon pace (about 8min/mil). It's 5 weeks before London, so I'm thinking it shouldn't do me in...
Just discovered I havent actually sent off my application form for this race.....if any race organisers see this, is there any chance of a late entry being accepted?? mr_hurds@yahoo.com
humph! not got mine yet........ got me lincoln number though
think ive been forgotten ha ha
does anybody know the course?
I've got last years map and the instruction that its more rural and omits bransholme, coming back along the old railway, but I can only think it turns right at riston to rise and then along the line but that involves crossing a busy road which won't be easy?
any ideas?
cheers
