I sometimes work in the area, and took the opportunity to run around most of the perimeter. LOVED it! So much better than just hammering out the miles along the seafront where I live in Sussex. Have also made tentative enquiries with a club in Tunbridge Wells. (seeing as I spend so much time over that way!)
Scotty - I cannot understand that map. I know the main entrance where the cars come in. We normal turn on the road and go up a steep hill towards the main house.
You can always go in weatherspoons on the high st, they do a really good full english for under a fiver, it went down well after the last race i did there.
Hiya, the race Start will be in roughly the same place as before but we will be going in the opposite direction before turning sharply (bit of a u-turn) and running up the long drag to the house. The run down the main valley is still there but there will be a sharpish climb up to the house a few hundred metres short of the old course climb up from the road.(if that make sense ???)
Snoop & Tiger, I'll keep an eye out for you at Blackheath on the 13th
Good luck all those doing the FLM hope i am there next year. I just started road running (6months now) and this is my first race, followed by the Darent Valley 10k on the 18th. I hope to complete under 60mins too, then race you too the pub!
Tracey G, we are indeed. It's a bit of a hike up that path. On reflection I think this is going to be a slightly tougher course than previous years.but the road that sweeps up to the front on the house where we do a left turn will make for a lovely view of both the house and golf course.
Scotty - that is just great, maybe I will not get a pb I have talked a friend into doing this race and it will be his longest race so far. He is doing Marwell Zoo 10k, so he will be getting some hill training.
My excitement comes from the prospect of a lunchtime beer in the High Street afterwards. I'm giving blood this evening....if they'll accept my FLM tainted offering.
Oh g'won then Tracey, I'll enter. its only 11 days after the Shakespere Marathon so I might be even slower than my normal slow pace. I won't be running to the start this time though .
I am thinking about doing this, but I have only been running since February and this would be my first race Mostly tempted as I live in Hildenborough and realy like going to knowle with the children.I have managed 5 miles a few of times in around 49-52 mins but no hills. Seven miles would certainly be a challenge but as with everyone I worry I would be last. Three weeks away doesn't seem like enough time to build up to seven miles but I might give it a crack.
Does the entry fill up or as on the 7oaks AC site it says you can enter on the day?
You should be OK to enter on the day. There is a 600 limit and we had 467 entered last year. Don't worry about being last. Your pace would suggest a finish time of 70 minutes (even with the hills i.e. you'll be quicker going downhill). Last year there were about 70 runners finishing between 70 and 88 minutes.
You'll love this as your first race. It's a very mixed ability field and there's a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Great for spectators too, so the kids will enjoy it, especially if the sun's shining

KERBOING!
Have only just entered this. A little something to look forward to as a first race back after FLM
...hardest race in the calendar, but I'll be back again, for about the fifth time in seven years, attempting to break the 60 minutes mark.
why? well there's a couple of good boozers in the High Street worth taking in.
.you bet, Trace - race starts at 10.30 a.m.
est. 60 mins. to do it.
10 mins natter at the end
5 mins to sort bag out
15 mins queue at the gate to get out of the park through the narrow gate
pubs open at noon on Sunday
SORTED!
Cutting out that steep hill if possible would certainly help me get in under the hour!
One of my favourite races - entered online yesterday

Hiya Scott. a good choice for your first 2 races. Both quite testing courses but rather beautiful, friendly and well organised.
We'll get a better view of Knole House on the revised course, which'll be nice
Scotty - It looks like we are going round the other side of Knole House.
Sunluver - Are you doing this race?
Boing!
Assuming I do the Whitstable 10K, Sevenoaks will be my 100th race. Wahhhhaaaaayyyy!!
I'm not including my one and only dnf which Snoop is sworn to secrecy never to discuss
I'm giving blood this evening....if they'll accept my FLM tainted offering.
