Thanks Barking. How did ya do? God it was so hot wasn't it? I was impressed with the goody bag, much better than last year. Good touch having a 10% voucher for Run and Become. Shame no KM markers. Found it hard to pace myself and suffered for it on the hill of doom!
There was a lady on a disability scooter going up that hill and I was close to asking her for a lift.... And what are they doing putting a park bench halfway up the hill.... Having a laugh!!!!
Found the hill so so so tough today. I run up it every so often in my normal training runs and have never found it that hard. Guess it must have been a combo of the heat and pushing myself before hitting the hill.
I have run similar type hills, albeit very slowly, but I wasnt even going to attempt it today
In answer to your previous question - not too bad considering the heat. I think I put on here I wanted 35mins, think probably be around 36. Not bad with it being hot and being ill last week. Nearly threw up tho!
Will be back - and hopefully not as hot next year!
Have you replaced the salt n stuff you would have sweated out Barking?
My mum got me these really random sports drink sachets called "Replenish" from America. They are really good, they have sodium and potassium in them and come in yummy flavours. I take them after long runs and stuff. I'm running out of them though, wish they did them over here.
PJ - not sure if you've seen my last entry on Porthkerry thread. If you still have Barry Gem mag I would love to have it. Are you coming to the Fetch 1 mile Speed Trial, perhaps you could bring it then?
Clearly didn't run this race today, but did Tewkesbury Half. Was a scorcher there too, so well off the pace but a nice run nonetheless, although am knackered now
