Barking i'm starting at 2pm for the Sport Relief miles. You should definately come along tomorrow night. Rio runs a brilliant group and no one feels like they are holding people up.
With regards to being behind us on the Barry 5K I'm just like Nam and run 11/12 minute miles. I haven't done a marathon yet, but only just got under 2 hrs 30 mins on my last half. The best thing about running in my eyes is that i know I can go the distance, in whatever time it takes me I only started running a few years ago and it's made me a v happy bunny ( a statement I thought i'd never make!
I wanna do CBTT but am scared....my current 5K PB (from Barry 5K last year) is 33:40. Everyone seems to be sub 30 there! Still sounds like a lovely crowd there.
I'm a whole stone heavier than when I did vaguely well at Ty Hafan last year... I think I was just over 30mins despite the hills, but that won't happen this year... Yet, I've got to stop moaning and get the miles in... but my tibialis posterior tendon in my right leg gets quite tweaky quite soon the moment I try push pace, so I need to be patient and get slooow miles in first to get back to normal... I don't know what my maker was thinking when s/he put my legs together...
Ah ok...I shall check that out PQ! Not gonna make it anytime soon due to being out on tour with work, so i'm away most Saturday mornings at the moment!
Katie I'm sure you'll go round faster than that now, from seeing you run on Mondays...
PQ... TT and I were marshalling the San Domenico 20 today and another Welshie forumite (Seren Nos) had forgotten her vaseline and asked who might have some... We were all laughing, going "Where's Daz when you need him?!"
Barking you've got plenty of time to train up for it. I've just started training a friend up to 5K doing the beginner run/walk programme and she's already running a mile or so before walking. Thats after about 4 weeks of training so you can defiantely do it.
Anything is possible!
Right i'm excited about having some practice buddies on this one!
To be honest I don't really want to time trial until I'm back to doing at least 6 miles comfortably... without any aches and pains... then I can worry about speed again... I've got a cross country 10k in May... once I got round that, I'll see how I feel...
I am supposed to be doing a wlk/run programme - I just don't have the patience and keep getting carried away - I WILL do a 10k/10m/HM (any or all) by the end of the year
I will show the b******* who think I can't
(sorry I am in a grump atm and it is sending me between CBA and bliddy-minded!)
Apparently Wales is getting the worst of this storm - which is going to be up to force 10-11 with 80+mph winds in South Wales, masses of flood warnings
It "shouldnt e quite as bad as the great storm of 1980something in which 17 people died"
Stay away from costal areas (thats me buggered then)
The PM has been holding an emergency planning meeting with the emergency service and military
I know I'm waiting for it (the storm)... there's a thread on it.... I'm on my own in the house too, because TT had a bliddy christening to attend to and stayed at his house.
Comments
Go on go on go on ! Use it as a training run if nowt else, it's free and there are no hills !
I'll pace you around a la Daz style if you like

*revises plans*

I'm too scared to train with you now PQ You have been assimilated....
>>We are the Borg...<<
Yeah I looked up the CBTT and saw that everyone was sub-30 or pretty near
Maybe we should go on mass and create a glut of 33-35min finishes
Although if you were 33.40 last year at Barry KJ, I would guess that you will be much faster on the flat CBTT course
My problem is that I don't know if I CAN do the distance.........I suppose I could always walk
