Thanks MF7. Unfortunately it looks impossible to get there by train before 9.30!
Anyone want to offer me a lift? I can get to train stations within a reasonable distance of london, and am happy to share petrol costs. Will try not to fill your car with mud/sand/seaweed! Thanks to anyone who can help.
Just a little warning peeps - Thanet District Council appear to have granted permission for The Kite Festival to take place on Margate main sands the weekend 20./21st September!!! At the moment we are trying to find out how much of the beach they want but it could make for an interesting start!!!!!
Mark.... I thought you might have spotted the M. and yellow lycra in JB's picture! LOL...... Doh. Did you have a good run today - Bobo hasn't stop talking about it! I've sent her to the bathroom.
argh, the bathroom! Yes, it is finished. The builders did a great job! BUT, the grouting has failed already..... grrrrr Must ring the builder next week.
And as for the dancing - you've not seen my white flared trousers have you !!
Had a meeting last night with the lovely Mrs Hall and she tell me we are still 10 marshalls short of a race. If anyone on here has a friend or relation who would be prepared to help out please email me. Thanks.
Thanks Cliff but you're already marshalling I just thought if there was someone else it might free me up to marshal but I think Old Bird has finally got enough people (including you) You can give me abuse on the way round
Jogstar There are entries on the day. And loads of Hotels in Margate depending if you want travel lodge or Hotel. There is a premier Inn beside Margate train station right opposite the start. If you email me I can send you the race information pack giving you details on where race HQ is located for entry on the day.
for accommodation. Each town has its own character, and every resident will argue about which one is best... But I would recommend Ramsgate or Broadstairs over Margate itself. There, I've started it!
If people are entering on the day please leave yourself enough time to fill in your entry form, queue, change and walk the 10 mins or so to the start. Also please make sure you have the correct money and are nice to the entry clerk - she's covering for me so I can run

getting quite excited about next w/e
staying at the youth hostel, think its fairly close to the start
done a few long runs so should be ok, aiming for around 3.15
weather looks promising on metcheck
It's only next weekend - cripes.
After not taking part for the last 2 years due to injury I can't quite believe I'm actually going to run it.
Hi
Can you enter on the day for this event - or has it closed already
Also does anyone know of any nice places to stay nearby - It's a 3 hour drive for me so might make a weekend of it.
Many thanks
Entry on the day will be good. There are lots of places to stay nearby - do you want to be 'on the doorstep' or are you happy to drive in the morning?

Thanks for this
Ideally staying within walking/hobbling distance would be good - that way I can just park up on the sat and poss drive back on the monday.
Premier inn would be ideal but full on the sat.
Thanks for your help and advice.
