BBC weather update 16 deg sunny spells 18m/p/h Easterly winds
If you know someone who is planning on entering on the day please ask them to get to Race Hq early I have received a lot of email and phone enquiries so the late entry desk will be busy.
Well I have just been out on the course and I have whitewashed the rocks, raked the sand and combed the seaweed, it looks absolutely gorgeous. The sun is shining, and there is a gentle breeze, just enough to avoid overheating, I am so envious of all you runners tomorrow.
Good luck to you all, have a fantastic run and just savour the fresh air and the beautiful surroundings Say Hi as you pass me, I will be stationed just as you leave the park at about 7 miles
loved it, not as tough as I thought, except the last few miles, legs tired, stomach cramps and kept thinking round the next headland would be the kite festival and the finish, but it seemed to take its time coming
thanks to all the friendly marshalls especially current mrs F who I ran with for the middle part of the course.
the weather and the lido for cooling off tired legs were a bonus and a sub 3 hr finish
will try and encourage a few more pirates the next time
Many thanks from Orion Harriers for a great event. I managed to bring 2 more from the club this year and maybe next year aim for double figures. Please look up our 15 in March next year as it might suit people who like this sort of challenge. Substitute sand for mud and sea for hills and you have got it!! Once again briliant event with fantastic marshalls, great set up and a lovely day! I also must add that T shirt is great but I did promise the fellow Orionites a nice momento like last year but we can't have everything and at the orion 1 5 you get a cup of champagne and "well done"
That was a good race - cracking weather as well, although I was a bit taken aback as to how hard it was to navigate the rocky segments of the course. Very enjoyable though, and I can safely say I've never been so happy to spot a flying octopus as I was when we came round for the finish!
Does anyone know if there will be a list of results and times published anywhere?
I shall keep my eyes peeled and check the website later then as I forgot to stop my watch on the finish (always a pain!)
However, this was more than made up for by piling in with a t-shirt, crisps, stick of seaside rock (brilliant!) and some energy drinks so good work to whoever organised all the goodies.
I want to know who the handsome, debonair marshall was, oh I think it was me.
Well done to TRAC for a great event, I think that I could get used to this marshalling lark, stand there for ages, shouting at people, whilst thinking you could do it better yourself. Oh yes, it sounds just like the day job!
I really enjoyed the race on Sunday very tough excellently organised marshals were brilliant T shirt great. I cant seem to get onto the Thanet road runners website to get the results any chance of an e-mail address so I can request them that way.
Tanks again for a great day will be back next year.

Now that the pain from the blisters has started to fade slightly, yes, I guess I did enjoy this in a weird sort of way.
