  • I think she has been taking lessons off Al Fayed
  • it wasn't just the judge who wasn't impressed
  • I'm a geordie lass and thoroughly disguisted at her - us geordie lasses aren't like her at all - well not my friends and I!!!
  • From BBC website:

The ruling questioned Ms Mills' statement that she owned a penthouse flat in Piccadilly worth "approximately £500,000" when she met Sir Paul, along with a Brighton property "worth £250,000".

"I have to say I cannot accept the wife's case that she was wealthy and independent by the time she met the husband in the middle of 1999," said Mr Justice Bennett.

He said the penthouse flat "was not worth £500,000 in 1999", adding she sold it in 2001 for £385,000 after the London property market had risen substantially since 1999.

"She did not in 1999 own the property in Brighton. That was not bought until March 2000," he said.

He also questioned her claim that she had £2m-£3m in the bank at this time, adding: "There is no documentary evidence to support that assertion."

And her claim to have had "very significant earnings as set out in her affidavit" were not supported by her tax returns, the ruling said.

The judge added that her tax returns "disclose no charitable giving at all", despite Mills saying she gave "as much as 80% or 90% of her earnings ... direct to charities".

Commenting on that claims, Ms Mills said it was because her accountant "hadn't ticked the tax return box".

The judge found the total value of Sir Paul's assets was about £400m. Ms Mills had sought £125m and been offered £15.8m.

She got way more than she deserved. I hope she's not allowed to sell her story.

  • Hey we under estimate poor Heather, she's actually very intelligent you know!

Last year she qualified for the World Chess Masters... unfortunately though she didn't quite make it to the second leg.<!-- / message -->

  • image, and the old:

Heather got a plane as part of divorce agreement, she also got a lady shave for the other leg should really be on here (if it isn't already)

  • IS THIS NOT A RUNNING FORUM???? Who cares about those 2? Heather Mills is a twat!!

Does she post on here? Is she not a runner? I thought she was but forgot the tart has one leg! hehehehehahahaha

  • I suppose the jokes are a bit prosthetic!

think dignity and self respect are key words here, they all disappear when there are large sums of money about

Not just when there are large sums of money image

  • I think the whole premise of taking your husband to court for money for maintenance is questionable. I agree you both have responsibility for a child  ...... and no argument with this settlement particularly since Paul is well able to afford it and probably would want child to grow up in a cushioned financial environment. What  I do hate is her ungrateful attitude to it and her assumption (or that of any man/woman) that marriage equals entitlement to money.

Split assets obtained during marriage (but not from before) and why do women in particular demand maintenance?   I really do not get this ?? Maintenance for what ?   Single women look after themselves as do single men...... why does marriage confer financial benefits?

It's prostitution isn't it ?  To get paid for your relationship ?

  • Actually what I meant to say was.......... she's a money grabbing silly woman. This can't be good for the child Please no jokes re amputation. Disresepctful to others and unrelated to who Heather is as a money grabbing silly woman image
  • "Alimony is a system by which, when two people make a mistake, one of
them keeps paying for it." -- Peggy Joyce
  • At least prostitutes make the basis of the transaction clear Mrs P.image

Can't stand this woman - I thought her statement that the money would help her with her charitable giving was a particularly contemptible piece of self-justification from a woman who was claiming £1/2m a year for "holidays".

    She is a disgrace.

  • Are there any women who think that marriage confers financial privileges???

    Or men ?

What's your argument for that ?  (Child maintenances excluded)

  • I suspect there are plenty Mrs P.

Exhibit A: handsome multi-billionaire Bernie Ecclestone and wife.

I suspect she doesn't darn her socks when they get holes in them.

  • The judgment casts serious doubts on her charitable donations anyway. It is very interesting that not one of the alleged beneficiary charities has confirmed that she had made any donations as she alleged
  • If I was a charity I'd pay her to keep away!
  • JB that pic could be me........... and anyone of a  host of old men

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

.or a closer look suggests it could be me and a very short old lady

  • I think he is very short - though I suspect she is quite tall too.
  • no I think he's just short

  • They look like a grumpy pair of old b*ggers.
  • they are going the tea pot song

    I'm a little tea pot...

  • What I find quite sad is the general assumption on here is that it's always the woman who stings the man for money. Not always the case - there have been a few cases recently where the reverse has happened.

In fact, some of us ladies are actually earning our own money and don't need a man to support us - gasp! I have accumulated my own wealth and would NEVER EVER beg a man for money. In fact I'd make HIM sign a pre-nup before I got married. Erm, maybe that's why I'm not married, LOL!

  • WilkieWilkie ✭✭✭

That's my point, Debster - why do the ex-wives of rich men not have the pride to stick two fingers up and tell them to shove their money?

And whilst you are right, there are more men claiming some of their ex-wives dosh these days, it is still more usual for a rich person to be male.

Perhaps rich women think like you, and insist on a pre-nup - or make sure that they marry men who are at least as rich as they are.

Ms Mills was apparently claiming that prior to the marriage she had her own wealth of £3 million, plus houses.  If that was so (which the judge didn't believe), she shouldn't need any of Paul's.

  • I can't wait to see which chari'eees she donates all her cash to now.
  • Loss of earnings?

What earnings? Either porn so bad, ive seen better readers wives. Or hooker and you can't declare earnings as a hooker!

  • I remember some pathetic bloke a few years back (in the US) who'd been involved with a famous actress or pop singer for a few years claiming he should have some exorbitant sum in maintenance when they split, including on the basis that he had become used to buying a new $50K leather jacket every month.  It's just staggering to think any court will indulge that.
