Thanks PM - and any others who sign. You are spot-on..
Lord Bute + the rest of our Victorian ancestors will be turning in their gilt lined graves... The Council also being v.sneaky in that (i) they keep trying to slip this through and (ii) the decision has alreadt been made and the damage done - a swaithe of trees were felled earlier in the year (look behind the College of Music) in anticipation of this gonig ahead. The playing fields also dug up for the Eistedfod (apols for spelling) and now looking very sad. This use to be the hub of the Sunday morning football scene - there are also plenty of other venues for the council to blow our money on 'Big Weekends' and the like..
Signed the petition, let's hope we can stop them again this time. Noticed on Friday they were setting up fairground rides etc. in Blackweir fields, mostly gone today though, and I totally agree about the mess left over from the Eisteddfod.
Got into running this summer and did Snowdonia as my first marathon, with the Roman Run 16 as part of the build up. Loved both of them. Anything else of this nature in S Wales over the next few months to keep me focused? I've come to the conclusion I like hills and mud. Thanks in advance.
Hello I am new here and am in Cardiff just thought I would say hello to all you Welsh chaps! It is funny to think I might see you in the mornings running along the taff trail and see you here but not know it! Are any of you Les Croupiers?
Ha ha, no my morning buzz as I like to call it doesn't take me that far! Nice to meet you Mad Mark. I have just entred the Forest of Dean race on 14th December but entred the 10k instead of the 15k by mistake, I got so excited about it! I hope I can swap!
You never know PM! Fighting the urge to drink a lot of bear watching the game against having a sober run at Pembrey tomorrow. One glass of wine in and not sure which option will win out.
Anyone in the South Wales area that rides a road bike and fancies going for the odd ride from time to time? I am still not running, but at least I am now back on the bike so keen to plod along on that, trying to retain/gain some fitness that way.
Great Haka PM, great face up, cracking 40 mins, and then painfull, slow deterioration. It certainly cut the beer intake, made Pembrey a little less difficult.
Anybody doing the sleepwaker in Talybont next saturday night or done it in the past. I'm going to give it a wirl, and it would be useful to have a rough route map if there's one out there. Should be different.
Pm, just had a month off running, kept cycling swimming weights etc. Started running again tonight with a 3 miler which was nice!
Hanneke I cycle to work once a week p.dock to hwest, but I guess u wouldn't want to tag along at 6am! lol Besides its real dark wet windy and errr scary to be honest lol.
Looking forward to tryng some tri's next year, no halfs just 10k's. Thats my plans!
hooray i found welsh peeps! In cardiff, not enjoying the dark cold nights. have entered paris in april for first marathon, had stupid moment after doing cardiff half!
I'm a restarting beginner, female aged 50+, very slow, moved to the Rhondda earlier this year. I noticed an advert for Rhondda Valley Runners at the Sports Centre in Ystrad. Is anyone here a member? Does anyone know whether they have a slow beginner group?
Blimey Hanneke - your xmas social idea seems to have killed the thread !! Time for some CPR...
Tehuti - Rhondda VR seem a friendly bunch (all Welsh clubs are though ?)
Anyone got a place in the MM XMas Pudding ? I left it too late - life now has no meaning !
Never mind - there is always the Les Croups Old Father Time Race on the 28th - 5 miles and with alcohol for all finishers. Younguns (<35s) sadly need not apply though...
Perphaps this thread is the exception to the welsh heavy drinking culture? How about a run in the Brecon Beacons to take in some festive snow followed by a few pints.
I was planning on going up next Wednesday morning from the storey arms at about 11 for an hour or so, but most people probably don't have the 'flexible' working hours I do in the week. Anyway, I'll be up there and ok for a pint after if anybody fancies it.
Ahhh, Could do that, as I should be back from the velodrome by 10, so should be able to make Storey Arms by 11... I am flexible up to X-mas when it comes to work too. Never been up Pen-y-fan from Storey Arms, I usually go up from Brecon on a variety of routes... so that will be interesting.
You want to do the Fan Dance??? Mind you, I only just started running again and am still recovering from a torn ligament in my ankle, so I better stick to up and down Pen-y-fan...
INJURED! Going to have to give up football........This season anyway. A rather bad groin strain has stuffed my running too at the moment! PANTS and double PANTS.

Does anyone fancy the idea of a South Wales pre-x-mas social???

Sounds good to me Daymion
I know, I am scary like a scary thing, so the prospect of a social with me has sent everyone running
Surely not scarier than running around Pen Y Fan?
