That's part of the snowdonia marathon route JD. Fancy giving it a go? My favourite run/walk is in the brecon beacons. Starting at the nedd reservoir, up the Roman road, over the peaks and then down by the horseshoe. Closely followed by Newton beach to omore river, up through the methyr mawr sand dunes and back around through tythegaton woods. Wonderful variety of scenery.
I don't think I'm ready for a marathon yet Daymion. Only been running properly a few months - just did my first 1/2 today in Llanelli funnily enough - 1:42. Know the Snowdon area fairly extensively through mountain walking/ leading experience, and gentle early morning running while camping up there. Know the Beacons horseshoe well too - and, yes it's great , but I prefer the quietness of the Black Mountain.
the thread has got so big I cannot trace whether I have been admitted to the holy race of welsh runners - anyone know? - I certainly live in wales - Gogledd Cymru

Gogledd Cymru? - O Ble dych chi'n dod, yn wreiddiol, Wanna Do?
JD - Well done on the first half time, that's excellent. I signed up to Snowdonia as my first race last year. Not exactly a clever approach but a brilliant race. With 16 week training plan you'd be fine.
Wanna Do - We're all mongrels really so you are more than welcome
I used to live in Aberystwyth, but have lived on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park for the last 20years - some great training routes and the best marathon in the UK!
There's a Welsh runners' thread! Wow! Might be nice to find out a few of the lesser known things that are happening around the country. And eventually maybe I'll get to run that suicidal Snowdon thing!
