So where do I fit in? Missionary, Exile, Heritage?

My Mum and Dad are/were Welsh, they both moved to London and met at a Valentines Ball held at the London Welsh Club in 1958. I spent all my summers back on the farm near Abergaveny or visting relatives in Colwyn, Wrexham and Merthyr.

I have very few relatives left in Wales now, not even any first cousins but many 2nd cousins. I, along with my cousins and brothers and sister, was called Taf at school, I've represented Wales at sport, I speak Welsh, I certainlyI feel Welsh,  but am I in fact Welsh?

............ and btw, isn't "Lady Corpulant" Welsh?

  • Options
PM - no, you're not Welsh in my books as you weren't born there but with that heritage I have no issue if you want to call yourself Welsh......got to be better than being called English eh???

good friend of mine was born in Bristol of Welsh stock - even has a Welsh surname unlike me.. image - he even sounds Welsh yet has never lived there........
  • Options
It's a tricky one, my youngest son was born in and lived in Greece for his first 5 years but I don't think he's Greek. Unless he wants to do his national sreviceimage
  • Options
Oh, and we have a fairly common Welsh surname

    Plenty of response there then!

I will be doing the Cardiff half!!!!! Hoping to beat my time of 2.09.....not quick but only ran for a year and happy with it.

BIGREDTOE....sounds good your enterprise re: Apples!!

Bigredtoe your in Pembs too, where abouts, Im in the dock. Often run across the cleddau bridge etc!

Lived and worked in Wales 20yrs, siarad Cymraeg tipyn bach, understand a lot more than anyone ever realised, now moved back to Lloegr but still dead excited about the BLUEBIRDS in the cup final. Massive!

  • Options
As a kid my Taid used to take me to see the Bluebirds everytime they played in London. He moved to Spain when I was 8 so I couldn't go and watch them anymore. I've always followed them from afar and was as pleased as anyone when they made the final. Am now trying to score some tickets

I reckon we can count you if you are Welsh, or if you live in Wales

Feck - don't look like I'll be allocated the 2 tickets I had for the Semis, only guaranteed 1, gutted image

    Will get another somehow.

If I qualify - can someone add me in the list please, diolch
