I've been given the results by nurse L on the phone today. She's booking me in to discuss them with my nuclear medicine consultant in the next couple of weeks as there's no rush to see him.
Calcium's a bit low, so she's going to speak to the surgeon to see if he wants me to re-start the sandocal or have another test just to monitor it.
TFT all seem normal
(biggie) Thyroglobulin (needs to be close to 0, was 10, then 12) is 0.5
I'm trying not to celebrate before I've seen Dr G, but nurse L seemed very pleased with this.
Just found this thread and read it from the start (I had a benign tumour on my thyroid about 15 years ago). Gosh, you've really been through it, it looks like they have it sorted now
Fingers crossed, but I don't feel that I can start celebrating just yet. Maybe once I've seen the consultant...or had the next 3 month check up...or the one after that.
I want to say, once again, how much I've appreciated everyone's support, not just in this thread, but in others that I loiter in, and also in real life. Hopefully, once I'm confident about being OK I'll be able to buy as many of you as I can a large drink at sometime in the future.
NOTE: This is not an excuse to start a drinks list

Corinth - I make my own cherry brandy, we have 3 sour cherry trees in our orchard, they are covered in blossom so looks like another good harvest. I bake cakes with some, and yes, I confess to eating some of them, but the majority get bottled in brandy with some sugar, by Christmas we have loads of very nice cherry brandy to swig.
Hi I just found this thread & thought I might join in as I have a very low vit d count & have been suffering stupid non-working weak painful muscles, fizzy body parts ridiculous tiredness ect & started a thread on here last week & this para thyroid thing came up & I was told to go & check it out when I next see the consultant as all my symptoms have been treated for ra in the last few years so I may be going along similar lines as my calcium levels are down as well....anyway hope I am not being too pushy joining this thread as it looks mighty interesting
Hi Angela and welcome. What does your rheumatologist say about your symptoms?
I've had bloods taken again yesterday, and am off to see the consultant tomorrow for official results day. It's like A levels, but 10 times worse. Can't believe it's been 2 months since the latest operation, it's gone really quickly.
B just said my scar looks loads better (without prompting), and I'm less conscious of it as well. Apart from having a stonking cold, I feel fine.

All blood results are fine, main one is 0 for all practical purposes, so no evidence of any cancer.
Just need to tweak my thyroxine a bit, and then won't need to see the consultant for 6 months.
So happy for you Kwilter xx
Hugs to you all
Fantastic news
Cherry Brandies all round!
