a celebration of all thing pastry shall forever live here!!

i especially like greggs chicken bake pasty with one of their iced donuts!

but, what does the general public think?

remember, mr lord lloyd webber will be choosing the best pasty to represent him in the west end musical of "pie"

  • my preference is cheese and onion pasty.
  • oh lord

don't let dan dan see this thread

  • Can we have sweet pastries too? If so then I'm partial to an apple turnover with cream image
  • I used to love Hollands chicken and mushroom pies

  • all pies, pastries, and turnover are welcome on this site - we bear no malice to anyone - even those cream horn efforts!

  • Cream horns mmmmm and flake cakes.... and hot sausage rolls....

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .... pasties! I have not one but two West Cornwall Pasty Co"loyalty cards", both full and entitling me to a free oggy. Should I cash one of them in or stack them up for hungry times? Dilemmas, dilemmas ...

  • Hollands cheese pieimage
  • Fur pie gents ?
  • such loyalty deserves more than 2 oggys
  • mmmm Hollands pies are my food of choice when I go back to vivist my folks in Manchester.

Pasties however have to be Friary Mill chicken curry, now with added staff discount image

  • oggys - not cornish but plymouth (although i am proud to say i overtook the notorious pasty in flm 08) and in plymouth the question is which dewdney - ron or ivor?  to be fair each deserves the addition of the special pasty condiment that is half and half ketchup and brown sauce
  • Neither Martyn, they're both horrid. If it's not ours (Friary Mill), I go to the Oggy Pasty shop opposite M&S

For an expat who can't get his favourite Philps pasties (made in Hayle), the West Cornwall Pasty Co is a worthy alternative.

And as a self-respecting Cornishman and pasty connoisseur, I wouldn't touch a Ginsters pasty even if it were nestling seductively in a 40DD cleavage.

But, during a spell living in Rutland I did become partial to Melton Mowbray pork pies image
