Symes - I reckon you could be right - you know I'd completely forgotten how bad my back was - been working on core strength and also fitness is better than last year I think. I started at a higher base and I've been consistent with training but I think I'd probably struggle to do 2 so close. Thanks for that - wise words!

Then will probably DNF as I ran 5 miles in the wrong direction and used my gels to punch harder

Early advice I know, but anyone got any ideas as to the best wet suit to buy? Assuming we need one, I have to go out and buy it and have no idea where to start. Money less an issue than the feel and comfort (within reason).
Bascially I need all the help I can get!
get along to a reputable shop and get trying on, you may want to wait tho as I got mine later in the year in the sales
Bedders - the wetsuit will seem uncomfortably tight when you try it on, it is supposed to it does loosen up in the water - as mention see if you can get to somewhere that does try befor you buy sessions - where are you based
I was told that the wetsuit I bought was for "experienced swimmers"
But that was a load of tosh. I still have far too much bouyancy in my leg area.
I am saving up and having one made through SNUGG
Mine felt really tight in Bala but I hadn't pulled it up far enough so it felt tight across the chest and shoulders.
When we went to Porthcawl to swim last weekend Rio told me to pull it up more from the legs and them it felt perfect.

jpenno -Problem is that I am living in Holland but come back to the UK every fortnight and stay in the Reading, Berks area. Does anyone have an idea as to where I could go and try a wet suit and an OW swim near Reading?
Ultra - Ironwolf - In terms of my swimming ability I am yet to swim in OW. This morning I swam just over 2000m in a little under 48 mins. I was pleased with this but it was in a pool so would be much different outside I guess.

Why does it say on the IMCH website that the race is on 7th June 2009??
OK - now I'm all confused again!
I asked yesterday what the 70.3 referrred to, and got the answer about the added-up distances.
What's the difference between the two races referred to by Nam and mellifera??
