I know it's early days, but someone has to be first to enter. Brilliant race last year. Looking forward to knocking a chunk of my time this time around!
Everyone says the Gosport one is flat. I've been there once before and its flat. I've just started out also (will have done 2 1/2 M's) and using this to gain a personal best.
I just did the Windsor Half on Sunday and was my first ever race full stop! I thought I would go for a biggy and was interested what you runners have to put yourself through to complete 13 miles. I must admit Windsor was HARD work. It was roasting hot, very hilly and also a lot of the course wasn't in the shade, resulting in me now having a sunburnt face!! (Actually looks quite nice today now the redness has subsided!)
My time was 2hr39 for the Windsor race which considering I'm not a runner, the weather and the course I was pleased with. I would like to do the Gosport one but am slightly embarrassed by how long it will probably take me!
christhepuma....loving your reply!! I shall be entering to run the very challenging speed bumps then lol i guess its going to seem nothing then compared to the forest marathon??
hopefully will be doing this - will be my third time. I've not run the new course (is it much different?) - but previously it was definitely a good pb course - especially if there's not too much wind!
Its so flat you could call it Holland. The new route takes you out of Gosport towards Lee on Solent and through and around Daedalus old airstrip ( pancake flat ). Top views of the sea and the isle of wight on the last few miles. Race marshalls are brilliant and will egg you on till the end, Pb's are us on this course.

Gosport HM
simply a fantastic HM
You can run for who ever you like.
Carity or no charity - sup to you.
3 it was -
1 small lap and 2 bigger ones
Hi, Im an off and on runner but currently doing well and keen to keep it up. At the mo Im doing 3 x 6miles per week at 12mins pm. Based on this info:
Would the Gosport HM be a good first HM?
Will I have adequate time to train up?
Thanks!

That times seems plenty to train up
hey,
am considering this as my next challenge having just run the new forest marathon....is there any unexpected hills or hidden treats on route?
the only hills are the speed bumps near the finish
Its as flat as a pancake thats been lying in the road during a steamroller convention.
I'm not running it unless someone gets rid of those speed bumps then...

"Pb's are us on this course"
Prefer "Pb u-Like"
Flatter than that
