One ex returned every single thing I'd ever given him over the course of our 7 month relationship which was so lovely of him as I ebayed quite a lot of it and got some of my money back.

I'm such a dimwit at times.
Eight months ago I had a non-invasive heart opp which meant I was going to be in hospital for 3 days and needed someone to stay with me for about a week to help out and keep an eye on me.
My daughter was in Australia, my sisters were both on holiday, mum and dad are in their 70s and live in Liverpool, I live in Northumberland.
I'd mentioned my dilemma in work and a colleague I'd had a short (steamy!) relationship with a couple of years before, volunteered to help out. She more or less moved in with me, was there for hospital visits, helped around the house, walked my dog and generally made sure I was okay. She even accompanied me for my review visit about 3 months later
We're still good mates.

Perhaps the only nice thing I can say is that she lives a long way away.
Sadly, she also has my kids with her.

He intended to be a good husband and father, and believed that he was. He just didn't have the capacity to make his intentions and wishes become reality.
Isn't it hard to be level-headed, where affairs of the heart ( or wallet) are concerned?
Where an ex is concerned, there must have been attraction, and closeness. For this to have soured must have been painfulm or at least mildly disapointing for one or the other..... Recrimination is a negative emotion, it prolongs the event.
I have many thoughts towards my Kid's Mum - we were together a long time, and I could spout forth a list of grievances, but it would solve nothing - at least she allows me pretty much constant access whenever I want, and she hasn't moved them to the other side of the country. Many issues remain, but things could be much worse!!!
