Comfy saddles

I know it's been talked about before but please save me the bother of trying to find the thread...

Mrs RB and I have become official bike ponces..(not really..) we have new bikes coming and I'm wondering whether the saddles will suit us or should we get comfier ones.

There has been some tlak here about conmfy saddles so pelese can you let me know what you consider to be the comfiest saddles (men and women)?

rb - the only comfy saddles are the ones that fit you.........everyone is different

use the ones off the old bikes if they suit and/or buy the same for the new bikes....

otherwise you could be searching for a lifetime for the right one for you and Jo

ps - Fizik Arione seems to be the forum favourite though.....

There are a few different models of Arione...I guess it's down to weight?

You can get the arione tri = that has a foamy nose for riding on the tribars more.

Mine is the standard road version now - I didnt bother with the ultra lightweihght one.

same as cougs - standard road one for me......

have thought about the tri version and perhaps for a flat course I'd give it a whirl just to reduce the numb-knob issue but so far been happy with the road one

i hated the fizik vitesse (ladies tri saddle) so if it's for the mrs you might consider another. i like the selle italia gel ladies and two specialised saddles, the jett and the dolce. the dolce is less than 30 quid so worth a risk in trying.

I've got the specilaised but can't remember if it's the jett or the dolce.  I had to sit on a foam seat in the middle of the store so they could measure my arse for it though.  Tres embarrassing.

I had a selle italia one before that and hated it.

Sometimes I find the specialised a bitch but other times (IMF as an example) it is a dream.  As Melli says, it's personal choice so try before you buy (yes, my LBS did offer me a try before you buy for a week)

Selle SMP Strike  Expensive but by far the best as ones balls and womens bits don't touch the saddle.  You do get a wet bum though

Bugger off Brian!!! I was going to get yellow tyres but it would have spoiled the look...I'll be wearing yellow anyway and JTP so we will get seen OK.

 Funny thing is, we only went into the shop to but Jo some bike shoes and clipless pedals.....

I've got the Spec Ruby too. Mine came with a spec Jett saddle which has taken me very comfortabley to 50 miles so far.

Thanks Trog...no idea what saddle Jo is getting...I'm picking up the bikes tomorrow...so we'll see then....very excited!!!!
