The thread on PF is making the soles of my feet tingle! I'm sure it's psychological rather than anything else, but it sounds so horrible (much sympathy for those who are suffering) I wondered what (if anything) I can do to stop myself from getting it.

True YL ,
Those with flat feet and overpronators are most prone to PF.
Well, funnily enough I've just been to get a pair of proper running shoes and it seems I overpronate so I'm glad I went now!
WildWill - that's not helping LOL! i need to get over this SOON or I'm going to go MAD! I'm doing everything on your list though
I ended up buying a Strasbourg (sp?) sock hand having regular physio / acupuncture
(acupuncture IN THE FOOT IS NOT NICE)
Oooh - a what sock???
I've had acupuncture in my feet, years ago, and I'm *never* going there again! You're very brave if you went more than once lol! I'll stick to my current approaches of stretching, glucosamine, ibuprofen, sports therapy massage, ice, rolling a ball underneath my foot, arch supports in my shoes, swimming, cycling and regular sobbing because I can't run One of those has to work eventually!
Oh! Found it - a Strassburg sock!
*ponders to self on how to go about a home-made version*
There must be a way....
Exercises for your feet!!
I had PF for about a year. Now I regularly do exercises to keep my feet strong and able to cope with the pounding they get.
Try www.sportsinjuryclinic.com (or co.uk can't remember) for the exercises.
