I haven't got my pack yet. We are coming down to stay for the weekend so I hope it arrives before we leave on Wednesday!
I run in cotton t-shirts for short distances only - I sweat a lot and I don't like wearing a wet shirt for longer than about 20 minutes or so. Given the low cost of technical shirts these days, and the variety of styles and colours, there's no need to run in a cotton if you don't want to. A technical shirt is a sensible investment. But it's each to their own, and I know that some people do like to wear the sponsored shirt on the run itself, even when it is cotton.
One option that some people use, is to wear a technical shirt - perhaps a base shirt - and put the cotton on top of that. The technical will pull the sweat away from the body so you don't feel so uncomfortable.
Of course, if you don't sweat much, then a cotton is fine.
My son's now got his race pack... but he seems to have been entered in the wrong race and will be with kids far older than him! (and yes, I did fill in his application correctly...)
PS I've had a couple of really good technical t-shirts from races recently - wish more races could offer them!
Pack still not arrived. Sent an email - no response. Phoned yesterday. They had my address wrong. I went to my neighbour, but they had not received the pack either. Will be phoning in a moment to arrange to pick up the pack when I am in Swansea.
No race pack for me. I called and my name wasn't on their system! The cheque was cashed back in July, so to be fair they're going to send something out first class this afternoon.
A little panic moment from me when tey said I wasn't on their system, all that training for nothing? But as long as something arrives in the post it hould be fine. I'm glad I checked with them today though.
The weather looks nice for Sunday, hopefully not too nice. Sunny intervals - I want to run in the clouds...
Definitely give them a ring. They did say they were still sending packs out in the last couple of days - but I wasn't on their system, so I'm not sure what's happened.
But no T Shirt. There was a note inside that explained that the T shirts went to the first 3000 applications. Fine with me, I binned a whole stack of race T shirts the other week! Now, medals on the other hand .....
Got my pack and my t-shirt from the Guildhall last night.
The chip is a velco strap that goes round the ankle. Not had one of those before. I prefer that to the chip which you have to put on your laces. Though my favourite is the chip on the number - nothing to worry about, and you throw it away afterwards.
The weather here in Swansea is great - perfect for running. I had a jog around Cymdonkin Park this morning - brought back memories as I lived right next to the park for two years when I was at the university and used to walk my dog in the park every morning.
Just phoned about my information pack I have been given my race number via email. But need to pick my pack up on the day from the late entries stand. Even though I entered a month ago?
I entered months and months ago! I was keen because I've watched the 10k before when down visiting relatives, and loved the look of the course - so got myself organised in time this year. But still unlikely to get there in time to get the t-shirt!
Ran it a few years back as my first 10k and really looking forward to it this time. Aiming for a sub 50. Anyone know how quick the course is compared to your average 10k??
I'm aiming for a sub-50 too - or at least, that's what the numerous strangers betting on me on Fetch seem to think I'll do. It's supposed to be flat'n'fast, but I guess it depends on how crowded it is as to how fast it will be.
PS Craig, I thought Margam was in October? Are they getting in early? (I noticed M&S had all the Xmas puds in stock today, so the race organisers aren't the only ones)
Just been down to the start to park my car close - better than struggling back up the hill to Uplands when tired! It's a nice morning, and there's stuff happening down there already as the organisers are getting everything ready.

Runningmum, my pack came last week, but my son hasn't had one, so assume the kids don't get them.
I don't race in cotton t-shirts, but they do come in useful down the gym!

Well done everyone. It was strange being a spectator for a change. (Still not recovered from race last weekend.)
