Hi Everyone, been running for around 3 months now and loving it! BUT! the muscles in my legs seem to be aching for days after, my friend suggested drinking protein shakes after a run. what do you guys think? TIA
May help, a friend of mine swears by it too. I had the same issue, my calfs would ache for days & progress took ages only doing 1 run a week. I found using a massage ball helped. I had so many knots in them & the massage ball got them out. Recovery was then a lot quicker after runs. Hope that helps
Sports deep tissue massage is the way to go! I went regularly for my back and now just go fortnightly because I enjoy it ! Always finds something get rid of. I'm having my legs done this week which I'm dreading as I'm very ticklish and swear like a wrong un.
Afternoon all. So I recently bought a treadmill to help me loose a few poundage. I'm, recently 42, 12st 3lbs at 5'9". Skinny arms etc but that weight just sits on my belly ha ha.
So today I used the treadmill - 2.74kn in 16:03. No idea whatsoever if that's good or bad. But next run will be Tuesday and I'm to better it and run 20 min. I walk quite a bit already so went straight to run stage

Having never taken part in any physical activity, at 40 I discovered running and it changed my life. After 18 months I was putting in sub 1h 30m half marathons and after 2 years I ran the London Marathon. I documented everything I learnt and techniques I used on my journey because now… I am a runner
Hi All, I'm new again to running and got back into it on the 17th May. Hadn't run since 2014. Took a bad turn of depression and anxiety and lost interest in everything. So finally got my back to it. So far since I've started I've managed 13 runs so far mostly 5km and 1 or 2 longer up to 8km. It's not continuous running but I'm getting their thankfully. Either my breathing lets me down or my calf muscles fatigue so have to take short walk breaks but I'm hoping over time the breathing etc will get better. My goals at the minute are 1. To continuously run 30minutes 2. Lose 2.5stone 3. Complete the storming the castle 10km run on August 27th in my home town of Carrickfergus
