swiss bobby what was your time on sunday, were you pleased with it and sorry with all the questions but do you run lots of races per year and if so whats your favourite couple of events
I have 4 favourite events the Great Scottish Run, Lausanne Marathon,London Marathon, and Ollon-Roc d'Orsay have a think about the Lausanne half marathon which is 20th October if you are interested. Cheap EasyJet flights to Geneva and great organisation, beautiful scenery and it is not hilly.
Cheers CiderB ... that is a better time than I thought ..my watch said 2:16:55 so now I am real chuffed ... and going out for a wee 4 mile plod to loosen up these sore legs. Thanks
hi folks as just getting back in to running after a break for a while i read that there going to be a edinburh marathon next year can some one give me detail about it and how to get entry form as i done the last one that puma had sponsered it was good over the forth road bridge in to edinbugh.
hey daisy no idea how you can run tonight. I cycled yesterday for 4 miles to loosen up - but there's no chance I could run for at least another few days. Think I used a few muscles I didn't know I had!!
I've certainly got the running bug from my training - I'm looking for a runners club in Glasgow area for beginners. Any suggestions folks? (before I lose the bug!!)
I done nothing yesterday .. I always feel guilty .. so I ran 5 miles tonight in a PB time of 42:39, which is more than 3 mins of previous for same route. It felt so good just to get out in the sun ... but my legs still ache !!! I have no idea about clubs in Glasgow .. sorry....
Are you on south side cider? If so then I can recommend Giffnock North, but check yellow pages for others,I have seen Shettleston harriers flash by on many occasion!
Swiss! Shame on your continued propositioning for Lausanne business in these threads - commercial activities of this nature are against the RW charter.
Cease your approaches to Mr Morrisseyshaireychest immediately, by order!
Snoop, if Mr Morrisseyshaireychest has seen the light then so be it. Just because you are sitting in the dark ages it does not mean that others can not step forth into the light, by coming to the land of the fondue and yoddling for a great sporting event.
By the way I have never fully understood you objection to this event. Come on Snoop explain yourself, with some well researched reasons, as to why people should not come.
Try the Scottish Athletic Federation's web site. It has a section on contacts to affiliated clubs. Some of their pages are hard (impossible?) to download, but you could always call them. They supplied me with local club info this way sev years back.
Also GLASGOW RESULTS. If, like me, you can't get the results off the official site note they are all due to be printed in today's (Wed) EVENING TIMES. This can be viewed online but I don't know if the will be there as I think it's a special section. Anyone wanting their times, etc., can email me on pu-kung@potalaka.fsnet.co.uk and I'll get back asap.
Cider, I also remember seeing some Glasgow Jogging Network T-shirts when I was running, they may have a web site if not I'm sure you could track down a phone number. I was thinking of joining a club after the Loch Ness Marathon ... to get me through the winter so to speak ....
Well done! Excellent time. I think that, coupled with the fact that you were actually able to run last night (I might manage a couple of miles tonight) probably means you won't win the last place medal for Loch Ness..................sorry.
Nessie, I am quite determined to finish this marathon, I just dont quite know how, when the farthest I have ran to date is 13 miles !!! I was reading an article one here about the benefits of run / walk .. and I'm sold. run a mile walk a minute ... 26 times ... sounds easy .. yeek !!!
blimey daisy - are you not cutting it a tad short for lochness? Your only half way round and only got a few weeks left to train!! And I thought training for the Edinburgh one was cutting it fine!!
Thanks for the clubs folks - I'll check these out. Mind you I still can hardly lean on my left foot. Must have been running flat-footed at some point (hmm - all of it probably!!)
I have been 'training' for this marathon for about 3 months now.... trouble is got injured half way through and had a 4 week lay off ... so no long runs etc.. and started back training just 3 weeks ago .. injured again off a week till sunday there. but hey.. as long as I finish ... I can put it down to experience... and what could be nicer than a slow plod down the side of Loch Ness ...
Comments
I am still having no luck getting into the results page ... could you please have a look for my result ? No. 1167
Thank you ...
Thanks
