1st time running this i've heard really good reports about it though! My cheque went out today - i was told that it was hard to get in so sent my form as soon as they were available!! Hopefully i won't have a silly low number that makes me look like i am really fast
My cheque went out today, one on the calendar in preparation for my first FLM, I have never done this one but the Mars Bar sounds exquisite!
Also doing Thirsk 10m end of Nov, fingers crossed for Brass Monkey - application in today, Reading Half in March, with lots of training in between. I too am looking forward to 2009!
I will be looking into this one - didn't do it last year but did do the Brass Monkey. Hope that you get in for the Brass Monkey Jaylo, The Ferriby 10 is also a good one to do, I did that last year and it was the week after the Brass Monkey.
Just looked at Packlington Runners website and it doesnt say anything about it being full so I assume they still have plkaces - although the race always fills up a long time before the closing date (I htink it was full in November last year?)
I've done Brass Monkey a couple of times in 2006 and 2008. Enjoy it, it's flat until you have to run over a flyover at 12 miles, which I thought felt really hard by that point, but it's not much of an incline really. Marshalls have been very encouraging as well!
I have had my cheque cashed within days and it says on website the race is full. Seems an awfully popular race. Though don't fancy the incline at 12 miles no matter how slight?
Gary Jones- Snake Lane is a great PB course - in fact I got my 10 mile PB there in this years race. It is not completly flat but the undulations arent huge - there is one longish drag at about mile 8 from memory but nothing much. I knocked about a minute of my 10 mile time here.
Sorry, I was having a senior moment! I was referring to the Brass Monkey not Snake Lane, I will try to stop at 10miles on Snake Lane!
My cheque was cashed for Brass monkey within days but for the Snake Lane it took until a day or 2 before I received my number which I got at the weekend and is in the 600's, I think max entry is 800 so they may have some places left.
Will have to stop talking about Brass Monkey it is getting confusing!
Whoops done it again, my number is for Thirsk not Snake Lane!!!!! Too many races not enough time! Don't listen to me anymore! I have no idea what I am talking about!
Nice one mate - I was just interested to see how close to the hour mark you'd be really.
I've only done 1 x 10 mile race before, and I did it in just over 72 mins. But it only measured in at just over 9.5 miles on my Garmin, whereas pretty much every other race has measured long (26.6 for Dublin!) - so not sure how accurate the measuring was, cos it was more of a charity race than a full on serious event. So something near to that would be good for me I think.
Oh dear, I don't think I can have got in. They should have received my entry Saturday, not sure when UK results started showing it was full. Cheque not cashed yet. Missed it last year as well! Must start putting in diary when to look for races opening...

Fortunately my cheque has been cashed.
I'm in for this too - cheque cashed as well.
What time you aiming for here Podro? Just interested really after I followed your progress in the Dublin Marathon thread.
