A TDF fan?

 Well, I was , than I wasn't then I was again, and I have high hopes of this year.

Here's a question or two to mull over though...

how many TDF winner's hands have you shaken?

how many Yellow Jersey wearers from the TDF have you ever beaten in a bike race?

how many official TDF race signs do you have strategically positioned on the garage wall near your turbo trainer?

I may be wrong, but I suspect I could out-trump both Barley and Dave on at least a couple of these.

I don't however have a hotel room within 300m of the finish line in Paris!

For my part, ...Merckx, Hinault, & Armstrong have all had the pleasure.

AL - Am working hard, back in training (FLM, and then Bala), and dividing the rest of my time largely between the kids and a new "friend". I try to fit some sleep in when I can too!

Im not a mega massive superstar fan, I dont have cable or satelite or freeview so dont get the opportubity to watch it.

Me too, there used to have highlights of all the ITU events on 4 (or was it 5) but that seems to have gone wayward.  There are a few Ironman events on 4 but cramming an Ironman into 30 or 60 minutes doesnt do the event justice.

I'm doing Ironman Germany on July 7th, I'm considering doing either this or the Cleveland Olympic on the same day. Do you think its asking for trouble doing a half IM 3 weeks before the big one ?

Holgs most of us did Bala before Germany and Nice which I think one of them was 2 weeks out ...  shouldnt be an issue IMO

Thanks guys - yeah the plan would be to use it as a final training experience to make sure nutrition, transition, bike setup etc was ok...
