I was thinking of doing that KK as it really bugged me when I read it..........since last march I have seen them do one open water swim..................and that was organised last minute in the august before the tuska sprint tri
Echo the "Well Done!" to the girls, but Rosey?!?!? - either you're a Pirate or you're not - come on man!
hey, i'll have you know i was of the original 3 pirates on the first voyage and i have earned my stripes.
I race as Chester as thats my first claim club and it was the BTA nationals, i get the same question at Chester, why do you wear a pirate top ? answer is simple, I enjoy the pirate ethos and have a laugh and to be honest it was the first 'club' outfit I raced in so why change.
But well done to the pirate guys for getting 4th, still lagging behind the ladies but not far to go.
I gave this some thought back when Melik was first questioned about why he never raced in PSOF kit.
I think Rosey's taken the approach that a lot of pirates do (including me occassionally). Run in PSOF kit and give and receive all the support and fun that comes with it on the day, but race under your official team because... well, insert your own reason. In my case, it will be because they're the ones who coached me through the training... of course, this is anticipating training for something at some point in the future.
Just think how good a relay team the pirates could put together! Guys and girls. Shiraz, Lindi, and Mon/KK for the girls, and IronMike, Rosey and... well, there are loads of fast male runners to choose from.
Reckon we could fix up a pirate relay event for next year?
kk, Shiraz and Artic lady - last year they sent all the vouchers to me and I sent them on.I'll let you know when i get them and ask for your addy to post them. If I get them before monday I'll bring them to IMCH with me.
p.s. it was 30 quid for second prize last year; not sure what it'll be this year
I got shoes the year before, assuming it's the same company giving the vouchers every year - they didn't have the ones I wanted so the woman ordered them for me - very helpful
Hey - I just noticed that because our star girl finished the race and got an official time we had four ladies teams in the official rankings. That's 16 female finishers with a stonking haul of prizes and medals of various sorts. Go team!
