Looking forward to this,only started running at the end of July so this will be my first organised run. Haven't actually ran 10k yet,currently doing about 5 and a half miles but should be ok by the time this comes around.
Anyone else planning on doing it?

Be my 3rd 10k of the year, and quite a break since the last one (in May I think), so it'll be interesting to see if I've improved!
Have either of you had any info yet? They've taken the money - but i've not got my t-shirt and details yet!
It did say that the race pack, with number, antlers and t-shirt would be sent out about 2 weeks before the race... so I'm guessing its on its way...
You will both be receiving tshirts/running numbers in the next few days as they've been posted out this week - see you there!
Can't wait now, just hoping my leg is better in time (trying a run tomorrow morning, so touch wood!)

Are T shirts posted separately ? Because the one I ordered for my daughter hasn't arrived yet (got our antlers though !
It's her first 10k so thought this would be an ideal event...in a good cause too !

Anyone who has got the antlers already, how do they stay on your head? Are they just an alice band?

Is my Goody Bag a mistake?
As my goody bag is a goody bag in the most literal sense in that it is a bag that theoretically could be used to hold goodies. I got some leaflets telling me to run more for the RNLI and a cheap pen advertising some machinery hire company.
For £14 I feel ripped off, especially as they claim none of the entrance fee went to the RNLI. Where did the money go?

Agreed! Goody bag wasn't worth having! Was my first ever organised race though so didn't really know what to expect. That's enough whining though,thoroughly enjoyed it,good turn out,lovely venue and finished in 49.02 which was way above my expectations.....feeling rather pleased with myself!
Special thanks to the fellow runners and spectators who helped get my (and plenty of others) car out of the mud.
Enjoyed the race and the atomsphere agree the goody bag could do with some work but the shoes bag will come in useful.

Lordly it was cold this morning, minus 2 I think!
but enjoyed the run, complete with me antlers - no one mentioned the hill at the 3.5/8.5K point - should have brought me crampons!, managed 55mins, which is just average for me, need to get some more miles in for the Helsby half in January.
Well organised, thanks to the poor marshalls shivering in the cold - the hot chocolate and mince pie at the end was warmly welcome, will do it again next year.

I agree it was cold and the hill at 3.5/8.5 took me by suprise as well found parts of the course bit slippy underfoot where the sun hadn't managed to thaw the road, was the surface grited the night before?
But a good race well marshalled thanks to them for their encouragement manged pb 1hr 3 mins and hot chocolate and mince pie very welcome.
Thanks to the people who helped me get my car out of the mud.
The hot chocolate and mince pie made up for the poor Goody Bag.
Was a little nervous about the frost/ice, but it seemed not too bad, only remember part by the water station being bad.
Like others 8.5 / 10 I reckon - and wasn't expecting the hill at 8k!
