Spring Marathon

So, I'm planning on my first marathon and have decided that spring is a realistic target. The question is, do I do Blackpool or Edinburgh. Initially I had thought Blackpool as it is (or so I've head) a relatively flat course but have since discovered Edinburgh and its pretty much downhill course plus Edinburgh gives me an extra months training.

Any thoughts from anyone??

For a first Mara I would do Edinburgh, for the occasion and a weekend in a great city.  

Blackpool would probably be easier to get to (from Notts?) and cheaper, and a more serious competitive atmosphere if that's what you're after.

Thanks Mr Puffy, am seriously considering Edingurgh because, like you say, I get to make a full weekend of it in a City I wouldn't normally get to. Has it got a better atmosphere than Blackpool?? I'm presuming it gets more entrants?
