How weak am I? A quick look see on the Tamar Trotters website, and I've printed entry forms for Ivybridge 10K, Teignbridge 10 (miles ) and Torbay half.
The thing is is that I entered (you did ask didnt you?) Torbay last year to try and get sub 1:40 as I was so got so close at the Plymouth. This year I plan to be at my speediest for Plymouth (1:30 is my target) before I start dawdling again through some Ultras for the rest of the year. So Torbay doesnt really fit.
I'm in and aiming for 1hr 30. Halfs last year were 1:40:31 (Launceston); 1:31:49 (Indian Queens); 1:34:00 (Truro) so hopefully with a bit more focus I can get under the 1:30:00 mark at some point.
The webbing thing isn't going to happen - because I plan on hosting a race that will raise money for charity so I don't feel too bad.
After two attempts I have failed to go sub 1:30 at Plymouth.
I'm so out of shape it won't happen this year either.
(Last year was an annoying case of staying 'just in front' of the 1:30 marker. All went well until the long drag down to Morrisons and the wheels came off...again.)
I'm not sure if my beer offer is still going to be open this year...last year I was offeriing a pint to any forumite who beat me by more than an hour. What with the recession and all, it might be one pint and a straw each
