Help for Heroes

I've just signed up to run for the Help for Heroes charity at FLM 2009. Had an email from them to say their team was now up to 128 runners - anyone else out there?

  • wish I had known they had places as I would have volunteered to run them
  • Not sure they have GB places dave - I've been lucky in the ballot!
  • I was thinking about which charity to run for and this could be the one.
  • Here's their website if interested:

  • Ta had been there. Just need to make my mind up.
  • I'm with them too, hope for 4 hr 30
  • Hi,

I'm running for H4H too.  I haven't started chasing people to sponsor me yet though.

    How's the training going?  image

  • Hi Night Nurse. Got a bit of a shock there cos there is another Night Nurse on the sub-3.45 thread but it's not you!

I've not started any fundraising yet either....last time I started too early and then got injured so pulled out. So I am going to leave it a while yet.

Training OK - did a half marathon last Sunday which was longest run so far - and it hurt...image

    How about you?

  • Well done on the half marathon! image

I managed a 10 mile race a few weeks back.  It wasn't pretty, but I finished!  That's the furthest I've run for about 5 years!!  I'm aiming to maintain my current mileage until the New Year and then start training properly.

  • Go for it, fab charity I did IMUK 08 for H4H and raised £750!!!
  • Sounds a good plan EB. I'm not planning on anything longer than 10-12 miles this side of the new year. Have a 10k race planned on New Years Day (why?????) and then start a proper marathon schedule from there.
  • How is the training and fundraising going all you H4H runners?

    Hi EB!

Training looking good at the moment. Had a scare in January when I pulled my calf, and took a month off running, but after that I've been doing well - did the Cranleigh 21 last weekend and finished with some energy left in the tank...looking to do 20-22 for my last really long run on Sunday and then TAPER!!

Up to just over £1000 for the charity so far, which I am chuffed with too.

    How about you?

  • Well done you H4H runners.

I am running for them in the GSR this year and IF I get into the marathon next year I will be running for them again

    Good luck to you all!

  • Just want to say GOOD LUCK to the H4H runners this Sunday i'm sure you have all raised a fair amount of cash for them and hope you all get through it unscathed with times you are proud of image
  • I am running for them, fund raising going ok so far. Good luck for Sunday everyone.
  • Hi, I'm running for H4H as well, hope to do around 5hrs 30min. Hope to see you all flying passed me.
