I agree with Nam, you either fight your genetics or you learn to live with them. You can diet and exercise the fat away but your body may decide to reduce stores of fat elsewhere before it starts on your thighs. Then if you are exercising, your muscles will increase so your thighs will get bigger again.
My advice is to eat a healthy and varied diet and enjoy it. Do plenty of exercise and enjoy that as well and stop comparing yourself to other people. Life is too short to worry about stuff like this.
Shimmy shimmy, may be the wave rider hasn't helped me but done more damage than good.. I have alway found that running ss the only thing that i lost weight with doing so ive just kept doing it plus i can have the odd biscuit and not feel guilty!!
was worreid my body may get used to the running i do, but im going to keep it up!!!
That's the spirit, stop fighting it and embrace your thighs, (may be tricky and careful you dont fall over.)
Keep up the running. Run because you enjoy it and not because it may make you slimmer/lighter etc.
Be thankful that your body works and is healthy. There are many people out there who would be grateful to have a pair of legs that work no matter what the size.
I think 30miles a week is quite sufficient when i have a full time job .
obviouasly unless you're a "serious athlete that doesn't have a life or work to go to and has time to do 20miles a day"...(which i would love to be able to do)
as i stated before i eat healthy and do not over eat - i am aware of the concempt of weight and how if you eat you put weight on..
I did also state in my 1st message that i felt like my legs were getting bigger.. i didnt say they were ...
also surely if your muscular that MUST be heaier than Fat!! is that not correct...hence the potential weight gain??
Also to be exact i have on 1/2 a stone not 9Ilbs .. every pound counts
maybe not"!!! anyway My Husband thinks im perfect and loves me the way i am so like its been said...y there are lots more things to worry about than gaining a few pounds - ill stay off the wave rider and bike- keep up with my running and i am sure it will soon drop off me again!
From what I can see on your picture you look like you've got absolutely nothing to worry about. Remember also that us females have those wonderful hormones which alter our perception of our bodies. Sometimes, I look at myself and think "good god I look fat" and then other times I think "hey there, lookin' good" and yet I weigh exactly the same!
ah, you've noticed. already commented on your hat on another thread. sudden rash of christmas names and avatars i see! just think my name makes me sound pished up
I'm joining this thread really late, but wanted to sympathise. I have big legs, not fat but muscle. Everyone comments on how amazing they are, for most of my life I haven't appreciated them (jeans to tight, boots don't fit) now I think they are great-they get me around and help me enjoy the sport I do.
I must admit I have switched to do some spinning and swimming, these seem to have helped a little with the weight too. I think my body got used to doing my running at whatever pace I did it, and coped-I really hurt with the swimming and spinning so guess that is shifting some weight again. I have a tendency to get like Fatima Whitbred if I do too many weights.....

The only thing you can do to slim down your thighs without losing weight in other places as well is to get liposuction.
If you're still keen after seeing how much it costs then go for it, lol!
If you gain muscle in your legs, then they might get bigger. Maybe if you're doing hill work that could be the reason for the smal increase.
The wonders of glycogen depletion!
two things-
1 at least people can't "see" your weight. you might know the scales read heavier but no-one else does. but they will see the inch loss.
2 thank goodness for clothes, they hide all sorts problems!
Good clothes hide a multitude of sins
Meglet, you've disapeared I sense a christmas makeover Like the new name
I want a hat!
